I did not vote, I was on duty, and even next Saturday, I will still be on duty.

Votes counts in some places. You can see what is happening in Ondo and Edo state. It is just to tell you that votes counts.
Re: Did You Vote? Does Your Vote Make A Difference? by opuro(m): 12:17pm On Apr 16, 2007
yes I VOTED and I believe my vote make a difference. The problem we are having in this country is that when people are working to win elections some are just there making noice that the election will be riged. Now as AC win in lagos nobody is complaining, but if na PDP NAIM BE SAY NA RIGGING.

I voted and my candidate (Fashola) won in Lagos. 828,000 votes all to himself, can you beat that?? His closest rival (Koro) got 300, 000 votes which wasn't even up to half of what he won.

Re: Did You Vote? Does Your Vote Make A Difference? by kachisxd: 2:27pm On Apr 16, 2007
I've Got a story and it's a true one.I'm going to put it in d words of the teller himself(he's an INEC Official). All these took place in anambra state:
"on the election day, we were all at the INEC office to collect our materials, we did, shortly after we left the office in an Inec Van in the company of some mobile police men, we were accosted by some supporters if Dr. Chris Ngige an aspirant whose name wasnt on the ballot paper. They beat us up pretty bad but we managed to escape and run back to the INEC office. There, we were met by some men who offered to escort us to the polling center, after they had conferred wit our mobile policemen. The policemen, at this juncture, declined from going with us, instead, they urged us to go ahead and "do our Jobs".immediately we all re-entered the van, the doors were locked with padlocks and we were ordered by these men to keep quiet. They drove us far into the nether parts of Obosi(a town in Anambra state) where they ordered is all to get down amd surrender the materials which we did without qualms. It was at this point that they asked our supervisor to sign in the proper areas with manufacture numbers, after which they rallied children to thumb-print the ballot paper. After this harrowing incident, our supervisor was given N7,500 for each of us, the supervisor then proceeded to remove N2,500 from all of us and gave us N5,000 each. It was after this that we were allowed to go"

WHAT IS THIS COUNTRY COMING TO!!!!!

make your vote count. It is those that did not vote that their will be used to rig. If all that registered voted, it will not be rigged.

Re: Did You Vote? Does Your Vote Make A Difference? by dkingsgirl(f): 3:06pm On Apr 16, 2007
i did not vote cos it wouldn't have made any difference, i would have voted if from the look of things my vote would have

i was observing a polling booth cos it was right in front of my off house no body voted, up to 20 persons who came there it was not their number, people where just roaming about looking for their number and when they eventually find it their names were not listed therefore they were not allowed to vote.

when i asked a few persons who came to vote and yet did not find their names who they wanted to vote for, they did not even know, they just came out of their house to vote cos in the churches and work places they were adviced to make sure that they voted as patriotic citizens.

but where is patriotism when worst of all people who came to vote does not even know who the aspirants are like one woman said to me yet she came to vote, if she had been able to vote she would have voted just any candidate who could also be a wrong candidate for the sake of patriotism, thereby killing the nation more.

imagine how many Nigerians are in her shoes who voted

JEEZ, i just pray we grow in this country.

i've voted, but i knw dat it is an exercise in futility because in naija our votes only do a little contribution in determining the person that wins. because most a tyms the leaders are determined b4 election by the some superior powers.i voted to fulfill all righteous.

Re: Did You Vote? Does Your Vote Make A Difference? by diyobdw(f): 5:46pm On Apr 16, 2007
I did vote but sincerely am not sure it counts.

I notice that politics has some laid down rule aside elections.
In this past election, my vote didnt count because i my candidate won not by one vote but, at least 500 thousand (to the nearest loser)so where in there is my one vote in there undecided.

am impressed at the turn out to sweep some people off!

But for real voting is still not credible in Nigeria!
Re: Did You Vote? Does Your Vote Make A Difference? by moondust(m): 5:51pm On Apr 16, 2007

Re: Did You Vote? Does Your Vote Make A Difference? by Soundmind(m): 6:21pm On Apr 16, 2007
I did not vote, there was no election in almost all part Enugu State. In my polling booth, Umu Adonu Owo Family Hall in Igbo Eze North LGA, election started by 7 pm on saturday and we were forced out of the polling station. Only very few were allowed to go where the ballot box is and vote. Every other person was told to go home and wait for next saturday election and so we left. In most part of Nsukka Zone, there was no election at all. Where it held, it started very later than 6pm.
All the same, i think my vote would have counted if i was allowed to vote.
May God help Nigeria in Jesus Name. Amen
Re: Did You Vote? Does Your Vote Make A Difference? by natur(m): 6:49pm On Apr 16, 2007
I'd rather not vote again. What does it profit a man to spend a whole day under the sun and at the end what happened? I voted only to see my effort been destroyed as if I am not suppose to be counted as a citizen. I was embitted because my right is not to be counted. And, just like Dat Nigga Raw will put it: it's simply because I'm not from Aso Rock.
