Safety Tips For The Yuletide Season by Simplybami(f): 10:52pm On Dec 22, 2018
Hello lovelies,

How are you all doing? We are already in the Yuletide period. Amazing right? I'm sure you're already thinking of the wonderful things to try out? Trust me guys, I'm also looking forward to the Christmas day. But,there is one thing I want us all to put into consideration; which is "Preparation". How prepared are we for the season? Now, when talking about preparation; it cut across all ramifications.

This is the "Ember" month, and we all know there's this reservation attached to the festive season in Nigeria.

During the Yuletide period, the crime rate is always intense. "The Children Of The Night" who have refused to work when their mates were hustling for the whole of the year, are always in position to reap from where they did not sow. So how exactly can we prevent this menace from happening to us? As we all know, the thieves are only good at stealing, killing and destroying. May we never fall victim to them. It's just few days away from Christmas day, and some people are hell bent on making money they couldn't make for the past eleven months.

The pressure to make money during this period always lead to desperation. You have to try as much as possible to never put yourself in a vulnerable position which will make you susceptible to fall prey into the hands of criminals.

HERE ARE SOME SECURITY TIPS TO FOLLOW TO ENSURE YOUR SAFETY DURING THIS YULETIDE SEASON:

1. ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR APARTMENT DOORS AND WINDOWS SECURED

This is not rocket science. No matter how tired you are after a hard day's job, please endeavour to lock all your doors and windows. A robbery incident that could have led to so many loss of properties was prevented on Monday because the kitchen door was locked. The robbers got into the house through the kitchen windows quite all right, but they couldn't proceed into the living room or other rooms because the kitchen door was locked. That same night, they carted away some valuables from the neighbour in the next compound. Now, you can imagine what could have happened if we were all too tired to have locked the door that night. Please, for this period; do not take any chances at all.

2. CHECK YOUR SURROUNDINGS PROPERLY AND KEEP THEM WELL LIT BEFORE RETIRING FOR THE NIGHT

This is very essential. Once you get back from work or any other place, always try to check your surroundings carefully before stepping into the house. If there are bushes around you, endeavour to get rid of them to prevent "Unwanted visitors" from hiding in them to strike at night. Also, make sure your environment is well lit most especially at night. Remember, you can never be too careful enough.

3. ALWAYS BE AT ALERT

Where ever you are, either at the ATM centre, parking lot ,shopping mall, your apartment etc. Always be on guard. If you notice any suspicious movement behind or around you, always alert people who are around you. Speak up immediately you notice anything unusual.

4. DO NOT KEEP LATE NIGHTS

Remember it's the festive season, always make sure you get home early enough. Avoid staying out late for now. Anything can happen. You could be traced home by armed robbers if you have a car. So, why bring upon yourself and your family a calamity you could have prevented? If you're hanging out with the boys, or having a night out with the girls or having a business meeting , always be conscious of time. If you're a night crawler, now is the best time to let go of this bad habit.

5. KEEP YOUR CAR LOCKED AT ALL TIMES

Never leave your car unattended to for so long. Where ever you are going, always make sure you lock your car, and try as much as possible to keep valuables away from sight. Never place your handbag, or laptop or any other thing of value on the passenger's seat while exiting your car. You never can tell, a petty thief could break into your car and take off with your possession.

So,when leaving the car, put all these things in the boot. That way, you're preventing a case of robbery.

6. BE WARY OF FRAUDSTERS

There's a new trick in town now. Some group of unfortunate, lazy louts have devised an easy way of duping people of their hard earned cash. Always be careful of whoever you're making a business transaction with. You see these fraudsters are only out there to get rid of your times.

They will ask for your account details and automatically send a fake credit alert to your phone. You will only find out after the deed has been carried out and they are probably not in sight. So, always be careful of making use of online banking for now.

Make sure you know whoever you're transacting business with. Never share your pin with anyone. Just be extremely vigilant.

7. DO NOT DIVULGE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION ONLINE

There are so many people out there who are addicted to social media. They just can't stay a whole day without being active online and saying something about themselves. It is totally okay for you to engage your online friends especially if you make your money online. But, try not to mention every of your movements online.

You're travelling to another city or country next week? Keep quiet about it, pipe it down. You just got a new car, don't go around flaunting it all over your social media handles. So many people have been wasted due to their flamboyant lifestyle online. They are very easy to track because of their updates online. For this festive season, remember, moderation is very pertinent.

Christmas is a season of giving and love. Let's all try to be our brother's keeper. If you know of someone who is not buoyant enough to celebrate the Yuletide, and you're in the position to help that person; do not hesitate to render the help needed. To you out there who do not have sufficient money to buy new clothes, you can as well re rock the clothes you have. There are several ways to combine your clothes differently to make them look unique. Please do not put unnecessary pressure on yourself. Never try to impress anyone. Cook your meals moderately and enjoy every moment with your family. You do not have to break the bank to feel good on Christmas day.

Remember it's just for a day, so do not get desperate.

Happy holidays guys.
