Late former Military Governor of old Kano State, Air Vice Marshall Hamza Abdullahi is dead. He was the governor of the old Kano state from January 1984 to August 1985 during the military regime of General Muhammadu Buhari. Hamza was also a one- time former Minister of the FCT, died in Germany on wednesday following a brief illiness.

Hadejia (Jigawa) Emirate tweeted a photo of Hamza Abdullahi and wrote,

“Innalillahi wa inna’ilahirraju’un. It is with sadness that we share the news that AVM. Hamza Abdullahi, yesterday died in Germany. We pray Almighty Allah forgive him, grant him maghfira, illuminated his grave, and enter him in to janna and may he forgive us when our time comes.”

Hamza Abdullahi, 73, who hail from Hadejia (Jigawa), will be buried in Kano according to Islamic rites, as disclosed by Hadejia Emirate Council. The decision was for convenience, given that the deceased immediate family members were largely based in Kano. Jigawa State was originally part of Kano State.

President Muhammadu Buhari in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina in Abuja, Buhari commiserated with family and friends of the deceased and Hadejia community.

He said that late Abdullahi, who also served the country as Minister of Works and Housing and Minister of Federal Capital Territory, had worked assiduously to ensure successful movement of the nation’s capital city from Lagos to Abuja. He also said that the deceased, as a military officer, was disciplined, focused and fully committed to the unity and progress of Nigeria. The president prayed that God would comfort his family and grant him eternal rest.

He travelled to die in a hospital and will be returned as a corpse to be buried in the cemetery they had turned Nigeria into over the years.

What an irony...

We will start rejecting their bodies soon. They can't turn this place into the burial ground. Use our hospitals or let them bury you in the country you passed away in simple.
