The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has retired four Special Assistant General Overseers (SAGO), who also doubled as regional pastors and replaced them with younger pastors.

The retired pastors include Pastor Ojo and Pastor Aderibigbe, who had attained the retirement age of 70.

They were replaced with Pastor E.A. Odeyemi, Pastor Daramola, Pastor D. Lawal and Pastor Obayemi, who were the regional pastors in Jos, Abuja, Ilorin and Sagamu respectively.

The newly promoted pastors, who had held the posts of evangelist and special assistants,

have been in the ministry for 32 years.

Also, some Special Assistants have been posted to head foreign mission offices in Cameroon, Ghana, India and some European countries.

The new Redeemed church calendar year starts with the church’s 58th convention that kicks off today and during the week-long programme, some workers of the church will be ordained.

Meanwhile, there seems to be no end to reaction to the exit of Pastor Itua Ighodalo, the former pastor of the Christ Church Parish of the RCCG, in Gbagada, a suburb of Lagos, who was sacked by the church because he got married a second time, ten years after he separated from his estranged wife.

Pastor Adeboye at the end of this year’s ministers’ conference of the church warned the pastors of the church that it is only death that can make any of them re-marry in the church.

He said they are free to divorce only if they are ready to hands off all spiritual duties in the church, adding that every member has a right to leave the church if he is not ready to abide by the rules and regulations of the church.

Pastor Adeboye told the ministers that Redeemed Church is not a cult but a church, where couples are joined together with the Bible and not the ring.

He reiterated that the reason for this is simple: “ring can be stolen, lost, rust, the owner may removed it but for the Bible, forever, oh Lord, thy word is settled.”

the truth is that it is only death that can bring about re marriage.what did ighodalo do to bring back his wife.Did he pray? if he did his marital problems would have been resolved .my wife left for 1 million years is not agood reason before God.igodalo should be more concered about this life after and not this life now.The bible allows aman to divorce the wife for immorality but not to re marry.that is why the way of the cross is narrow.

There is no man in this world that can predestinate any other man's destination after this world,,,,Nobody,,,absolutely nobody has the audacity to say IGHODALO would go to hell because he remarried. Read your Bible very well in 1st Corinthians 7 vs 15.
Also read the story samaritan woman Jesus met by the well side,,,,Being married to your wife or ur husband all your life is not a guarantee that you would go to heaven or hell,,,There are worst religiuos activities going on at RCCG than Ighodalo's issue.
I have always asked,,,was Pastor Adeboye not aware Ighodal was going to get married 3yrs? was he not present at the wedding with all his lietenant? did he not bless the union with his liutenants?? The truth is RCCG is fast becoming a CULT even if they fail to admit it,,,
How could an organisation approved of s marriage and only 2yrs later you turn around to wanting to annul the marriage because of baseless excuses. Often times its been said at the camp that if the world comes to an end,,,only about 5 or 6 people would make heaven there,,,,so whats the point gathering a marmouth crowd when heaven is not guaranteed for them,,,
RCCG is just hypocritical,,,,so if my wife choses to divorce me today and then gets remarried with kids to another man,,,,I should keep praying for God to make her come back to me somebody pls asnwer my question! These re some of the religious practices that brings christianity to question. There re too many wicked, hypocritical and self rigtheous people at the helms of affairs of churches today.
If we truly believe sin is sin,,,,then what about all the criminals in RCCG who re the direct reasons why Nigeria is getting worst today. RCCG cares about outward looks of the people,,,,there is too much confussion in that organisation,,,how can a church have two sets of worshippers? one you classified Model and another you classified classical,,,some members have there hair opened others hair tied with scaves,,,some wear trousers,,,in some others its a sin,,,,Thats simply a house of commotion!!!

he's a widower, not a divorcee.

and he was married for almost 30 years, wasnt he? There's no evidence of any foul play involved anywhere, so what's the problem?

not to mention pastor kumuyi is currently 69 years old?
