Coup In Gabon: Govt Says The Situation Is Under Control As Rebels Captured by Adekkatv: 3:11pm On Jan 07, 2019 |
The government of Gabon has announced that, it was in control after a coup attempted by army rebels early today. They further stated that, most of those involved have been arrested. “Calm has returned, the situation is under control,” government spokesperson Guy-Bertrand Mapangou told the reporters. Earlier today, soldiers entered the state radio and announced to the people to “rise up,” a clear command to remove ailing President Ali Bongo, who is presently not in the country. President Ali Bongo, 59 years old, is receiving treatment in Morocco since November last year, due to a stroke. With respect to Mapangou, four out of the five who champion the coup have been arrested, “four have been arrested and one is on the run.” https://www.adekkatv.com/2019/01/coup-in-gabon-govt-says-situation-is.html |
