David Beckham has bought a stake in Salford City FC – joining the Class of 92 former team-mates as joint owners of the club.

The former Manchester United player has bought a 10 per cent stake in the National League club.

It means Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Gary and Phil Neville now have a 60 per cent stake in the club, with Singapore businessman Peter Lim holding the majority share of 40 per cent.

MySportDab report 43-year-old Beckham, is also behind the Major League Soccer franchise Inter Miami CF in the US.

“It's a proud moment for me to join Peter Lim and the Class of 92 lads as an owner of Salford City FC,” said Beckham.

“It's a really special club and a special group of people. My early years in Manchester were all spent in Salford.

“I grew up there in many ways, so tobe able to finally join the club and the lads today is a great feeling.

“Salford City has achieved so much success in a short space of time, the fans are incredible and I'm really excited to be spending more time in Salford again.”
