bonechamberlain: The best thing NJC can do to save Nigeria is to retire both Onnoghen if found wanting and retire Tanko, for allowing himself to be compromised by the FG
You guys just dey dish ideas without an idea of how it will work.
What ever NJC does, the result is a mere recommendation. They cant retire Onnoghen nor Tanko. They will recommend and Buhari is the one to accept or reject their recommendation. What ever they do, they have to depend on Buhari.
Buhari will not retire Tanko, you should know that.
All these unethical practices were the trademark of Onnoghen, no wonder Atiku and his law friends wanted to die on the case.
Their plans was shattered Maybe some people don't understand what we are saying and why we're loyal to this cause.
We are simply worried as a Nigerian to know:
1) How can a judge have over 10 dead Justice on his approved list of election tribunal? For what? Obviously to take signatures after election regarding the outcome.
2) How can Onnoghen be operating 5 DOM accounts. Is he a bureau de change?
3) How can you claim to forget declaring $3million in his DOM accounts. What was he thinking?
4) What kind of judgement was former CJN passing for PDP to have such amount of money in his foreign accounts?
5) How did he gathered over 50 properties and all of them were undeclared assets. Was he awarded an oil block?
6) How can you be indicted by the CCB and be confirmed guilty by the CCT as the same time and you're not ashamed to think of resigning?
In all honesty, I doubt the sanity of anyone supporting the nefarious act. This is corruption at it's peak.
This decision is one of the best made by President Buhari and it's highly commendable.
How old are you? Can you just post your birth certificate here?

[quote author=phyllosilicate post=75208623]The acting Chief Justice of the Federation (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed, has warned judges against granting frivolous injunctions to politicians, as their administration of justice must be seen not to be partisan.
He gave the warning on Monday in Abuja at the opening ceremony of a two-day workshop organised by INEC with support from European Centre for Electoral (ECES), and the National Judicial Institute (NJI)
Mohammed said judges that will be sitting on the election petitions must be upright by taking the training seriously.
Represented by the Court of Appeal President, Justice Zainab Adamu Bulkachuwa, the acting CJN said judges must guard their integrity.
“You must guard your integrity and the integrity of the Judiciary by avoiding acts that will bring you under the disciplinary jurisdiction of the National Judicial Council as it will not hesitate to wield the bug suck of sanctions to any Judicial Officer who is found wanting in the discharge of his duties,” Mohammed said.
He pledged that they will continue to do their best to ensure that Judicial officers remain conversant with the provision of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended and other relevant laws towards ensuring efficiency and uniformity in the quality of judgement.
He said, “You must refrain from granting frivolous injunctions. Remain impartial and most importantly, shun any form of inducement. It is mandatory for you to analyze facts based on the applicable laws without prejudice.”
The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, at the occasion, decried what it described as conflicting judgements that put the commission in difficult positions.
Yakubu who said conflicting judgements create uncertainty in the polity. He expressed confidence that the training will avail the judges the basics of the electoral process.
Yakubu who was represented by a National Commissioner, Mrs. May Mbu, decried lack of consequential orders arising from judgements concerning election matters.
“For our part, there are two major areas of concern. First is the issue of conflicting judgments arising from pre-election and post-election cases. As a firm believer in the rule of law, the commission always obeys court orders or, where it is considered necessary, appeals them in the interest of justice.
“There have been over 1,200 cases involving the commission since the 2015 general elections and not in a single case has the commission disobeyed a court order.
“However, conflicting judgements, especially by courts of coordinate jurisdiction at the High Court level are putting the commission in a very difficult position and creating uncertainty in the process.
“Conflicting court orders are negatively affecting the consistency, neutrality, and public perception not only of the commission, but the judiciary as well. There is therefore the urgent need to address the issue of conflicting judgements in order to engender certainty in the electoral process,” he said

perhaps you're too mentally crippled to know that the issue was never about how corrupt or otherwise the CJN was! It was about the President breaking the law and putting democracy in jeopardy to punish a judge!
The problem is that ,from now, any other president could rely on this illegality to oust an "innocent" judge tomorrow.
The judiciary is decidedly removed from the power of the president so that democracy will thrive and judges could act without fear. It's the same reason presidents and governors are given immunity under section 309 from the police.
Whether the CJN is a thief or not is not the matter, Buhari breaking the law and putting the judiciary at the mercy of the president to kick at will is the grave danger!
Are you too daft not to see this in the long term?

Is this Tanko man a lawyer or a policeman? Have you even noticed the face of the current IG of police? The man appears like a belt holder in checking point bribe collection. The Tanko man is said to have 32 children. How has he been taking care of the children?

LieDetector: Onnoghen has about a billion naira in his account. He's the CJN and has been a civil servant for over 30years so it's understandable how the money came about.
Osibanja the mere commissioner prior to being sworn in as the vice president declared over N2b. But he can't be probed. Tinubu is worth more than Lagos state GDP yet no questions has been asked.
Hypocrisy has never been so obvious.

Osinbajo is an erudite, first class legal practioner who had been practising before becoming lagos state attorney general...
He was a Senior Partner with SimmonsCooper Partners, a commercial law practice... So don't bring that bullshit
There's a new dunce in town more like. It's far easier to prosecute any of the minions Buhari surrounded himself with. Instead, he's breaking the law to enforce his version of the law. You people think corruption is only theft, PMB is morally corrupt. Add that to his senility and illiteracy.

I don't regard baseless allegations. Talk is cheap and that's just what you've done.
You might have to provide proofs to back your claims but if you're still referring to this Onnoghen matter, PMB is 100% right.

Can you see that you are contradicting yourself? Professor Yemi Osinbajo declared over 2 billion naira but the criminal ex-CJN forgot to declare over one billion naira. Now tell me who is mad between you, Osinbajo and ex-CJN Onnoghen?

You're a born liar. Show me a link where Osinbajo declared over N2bn..You think everyone here is unlettered and will just swallow the gibberish figures you spill out of your anus.

but he's not swear in as cjn but acting capacity and there's no where on the constutution that be in acting capacity request the contribution of njc... We'll agree buhari has his own fault der. But u can be a judge in ur own case.. Since u can't step aside something has to be done... And tanko commits no offence... Even without swear in.... Naturally after the suspension... He owns d position as acting CJN
The constitution means a lot and I must say that it must have been carefully considered before the Presidency resolved to suspension.
And taking a close look at the constitution as I've rightly done, there's no provision or clause that refers to suspension but removal. So, since Onnoghen wasn't removed but suspended, the President is right.
Again, his decision was powered by the report and recommendation of the CCT. That again is within the affairs of due process.
Everything is right here my friend.
have you actually gone through the constitution?
Did you see that only the NJC has the power to recommend a removal of a CJN?
How 2/3 of the Senate??
I think you haven't really gone through the constitutional proceedings.

Pls do and reply me
I stated in my initial post about my observation of the constitution, I wonder what else you want me to read again. I already answered this question in my initial reply. Pls check

Whats your problem. Are you this dumb or its an ailment you are strugling with. If onogen is that wealthy why didnt he declare it. He of all people should know the repercussions of not complying.

Baseless? The orders that our dear president is "obeying" are illegal but he's 100% right I guess. You can support PMB and still call him out for a misstep. As it is, none of his deens has the balls to call him out, so they just clap for him.
