Chapter 1

Death is an inevitable experience all must face
No escape not even for the king
But there is nothing to be scared of death
Its only a transition to greater glory.
***********************
Edwin hated going to hospitals especially on Sundays. There was something about hospitals that he hated so much with passion ranging from the smell of medicine to the sick people in the general ward. The experience of taking care of sick people is not so comfortable for everyone,or maybe because of the trauma he faced when his mum died at a tender age with the forceps and all.
This time was his turn to be taken care of. He previously fainted after cough a huge lump of coagulated blood. His strength was failing him fast and he had no choice than to do a lung analysis.
His phobia for hospitals returned while his was in the waiting room, different faces of sick people, down syndrome babies, people on wheel chair and so many others. He could seat comfortably on the waiting bench ,thoughts of germs, who might have sat there before him and if blood had been spiked there in the past came to him.
"Mr Edwin you can now go in" a Nurse replied with smiles.
He was indeed a handsome man that could sweep anybody off their feet ,be it man or woman.
He entered into the office without any hesitation .better here than there he thought to himself . Edwin was ushered to seat down while the doctor ran through his file ,The doctor was a jovial person engaging him with medical attention before pulling out his test results.
"Mr Edwin Iyoha, Your vitals seems fine although we have some doubts and we need to run more tests but clearly from your records you don't smoke." the doctor said while holding his case file.
"Okay, what is the doubt ?" Edwin replied looking concerned as he hated being on his toes.
"We found out the liquid on your lungs contained some toxic materials which were malignant, we are trying to be sure that there is no tumor or cancerous cells in it." The doctor replied.
"Are you trying to say I have cancer?, no...I can't have cancer God forbid!"
"I didn't say you did Mr iyoha, all I said is that further diagnosis has to be carried out sir"
"Scam! All this are scam,Truely scam." Edwin shouted loudly without any reservation to the point that he banged the table hardly. He never had the substance to take bad news.
"Well if you think its scam then I will advice you to seek another medical practitioner but I will advice you to clear your doubts sir"
"Cancer gbuo giI there mpama!"Edwin quickly walled out of the office screaming at every nurse cursing them with unspeakable words.
Walking very fast with his legs commanding respect he branched to a bar to calm his nerves he drank like no mans business in order to forget his sorrows.

Chapter 2
Walking very fast with his legs commanding respect he branched to a bar to calm his nerves he drank like no mans business in order to forget his sorrows. Two shorts of tequila and still rolling, surrounded by strippers being woed by interested men, lights dimly blue ,music explosively loud and secular as ever.just like a typical Sunday bar.The bar wasn't his favorite place in the world ,actually it was the worse place as he only comes there when he was having a major tantrum .feeling fizzy he sent a call across to his friend Osita for company. Edwin and Osita had come a long way as friends since secondary school days just that Osita went to the university while Edwin didn't. Soon a tall lanky man with full eyebrows and full mustache came along . his clothes fitted his personality his dimples revealed as he shone his billion dollar smile.
" Hey Eddy,Don't tell me your getting wasted without me"Osita said as he shook his friend.
"How can I ever get wasted without you fool " he replied slapping his shoulders, they laughed briefly as two of them settled and ordered more tequila shot's. Edwin didn't hesitate to tell Osita everything that happened in the clinic while they drowned themselves with foreign wine.
"Edwin , I know its hard but from what I heard we are not sure that you even have cancer." Osita said while sipping his newly ordered beer.
"I know but I was scared, Cancer was the thing that killed mama you know that right? Moreover I was in shock."
"That doesn't guarantee that you have just because mama has " he turned at Edwin.
"Then what if I have ,I will just kill myself before I can put such burden on my wife "
"Guy you have to do that test again, This time a better hospital, I will pay don't worry."
"Thankyou brother, you really are a friend." Edwin replied with so much gladness in his heart.he drank more but fear started strangling his throat . he could not drink anymore due to his unease. He felt his heart racing due to the intrinsic thought of his death .he pictured himself buried alive while his wife screams in pain. Why him he thought.

**************
Ann came into the living room singing with joy, although the kitchen stuffed her with enervating heat.but her joy knew no bound, she had just been given a job at a very big hospital as a pharmacy technician . Although it meant she would be away from home but she didn't care. Two years after her ordeal with the man that took her virginity and pride and left her for dead this was a very good opportunity to let go of the past and look into the future. She was making moi moi in which she will eat with her sister who will obviously be tired after a long day as a waitress in a crazy bar. She had previously adviced her sister to look for a better work but to no avail.
She quickly set her food on the table and brought out her phone for her to browse on. Her life was basically a social media one.one day without social media could kill her literally. Her addiction with Facebook wasn't curable. She just received a message from her sister saying that she wouldn't come home that day.
"Is this girl mad or something" she thought to herself frustratedly after her stress. Her eyes quickly went to a flower vase which jogged her memory taking her to the time she was pinned to the ground as her neighbour forceful penetrated her without protection and the last words she heard before passing out were "tell me you love it Onye virgin". Tears escaped from her eyes as she lost her appetite to eat. She sheepishly kept the moi moi in the fridge and went to lie down cursing that man over and over again."men are wicked."she whispered to herself.
Time felt ceased and love felt dead ,all men were now beasts In her eyes.
