Once again, Lagos State governor Akinwunmi Ambode is embattled and the tides aren't in his favour as members of the Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday evening began moves to impeach him over alleged gross misconduct.



Alot of Lagosians aren't happy about the attempt to impeach him just a few months after he lost the party ticket to contest for a second term in office.

There"s no smoke without fire.

There may be some loyal but they are overwhelmed by other external/Tinubu factors plus herd mentality so rather than stick their neck out they refrain or join the 'majority'.

The most mumusish politician I have ever seen is Ambode, very mumucious.
How. on earth could he not at least fight Tinubu? How? A typical Afonja, I remember, they easily chicken out.

You mean empire builders like the Yorubas easily chicken out?
They are warriors but slow to anger and mostly win their wars with very minimal casualties...

Oboy i dey wonder o. A whole governor no even get back up sef. No one man can control igbos like this. Tinubu sure knows his people and their slave mentality, that's why he knows how to control them.
The funniest part is that this same ambode was being hailed as the best governor in nigeria by his own people but immediately tinubu said something, ambode's people turned against him just like that. Trust yorubas at your own peril.

As in ehhh. In enugu for instance, ike ekweremadu was in control of the party structure to an extent the governor wasn't sure of 2nd term. He was tossing the governor around. What did the governor do, haven realised he is matched for ekweremadu, he recruited a hard man in d person of Chamaroke nnamani. Chima was jejely resting In USA wen gburugburu co-pted him, even gave him senate ticket as a trade off.

That explains why ekweremadu was on fence all d while. Ambode is a dunce. Ur not strong yet cant recruit correct guys to save u.

the political structure in the east and west is different, that's the tinubu effect, his hold on lagos and currently other south-western states is very strong, which strong man does ambode want to recruit, that tinubu doesn't have in pocket, if there is, then he probably doesn't have as much influence..
even fashola faced the same thing with tinubu, but i don't pity him much sha, when he was ag of lagos, he was acting as tinubu's stooge to frustrate fashola and made it difficult for fashola to approve major projects without going through tinubu, he doesn't have what it takes to go against tinubu, even sanwo-olu is just another ambode in the making.....

it's not true. .Ike and the governor have always had a cordial relationship. ..Ike has never posed a threat to him. ..getting Chimaroke for Senate is because of the coalition of Ken ,Jim in Enugu East,so a strong politician is needed there to retain the seat for the party...abeg no spread unfounded rumour

His woes began when his wife committed the sacrilegious offence against that man of God.

Even my own father can't bully me like Tinubu is doing to Ambode, talk more of someone who is not my father.

T.A Orji was OUK's Chief of Staff and when OUK tried to control TA Orji, he decamped to PDP and blocked OUK's ministerial appointment and Senatorial ambition.

Peter Obi picked Obiano from the street, made him Executive Director of his bank and then Governor but today, they are worst of enemies.

Sullivan blocked Ekweremadu from being Governor and made Ugwuanyi Governor but today, Sullivan has been pursued from PDP.

Look at what is happening to Rochas today. The most powerful APC member in the SE.

Ndi Igbo can never be slave to any man. This is a decision Ndi Yoruba need to take.

Of course he has loyalists, but they were cut down to size.

WHY AMBODE'S TRAVAILS SHOULD BE SANWOOLU'S 'WORRIES'...

NINE months ago. Yes, NINE months ago, most of the so-called "exposed and enlightened" Lagosians did not know there was a guy called Babajide Sanwoolu. But today, he is their man.

In 2006, they didn't know one Babatunde Fashola as such but he became their governor. Why? Tinubu anointed him!

Sometimes in March 2014, the name Akinwunmi Ambode just came up from nowhere. A year later, he was Governor-elect. Fashola wanted someone else. But his master had other ideas.

One thing is common with these three guys: THEY HAVE NO POLITICAL STRUCTURES OF THEIR OWN.

In Nigeria, with our politics of Prebendalism, no matter how good you are as a technocrat going into elective position, you need to have your own political Men and Women Friday.

Tinubu usually goes for those he knows don't have political lives of their own. So he could whip them to line when they start to "misbehave". Since he has the party in his grasp, he just moves against them using the party apparatus. Which was EXACTLY what he did with Ambode. And also Fashola.

So as Sanwoolu is being addressed as 'Governor' and Ambode practically reduced to a lame duck, he should remember one Yoruba saying: "Pasan ti a fi na iyale o n be ni aja fun iyawo."

Meaning: the cane used to spank the senior wife is kept in the attic for the new wife.

Sanwoolu, as you gallivant around, beware...
