Jumping on the “O jewa ke eng?” trend (a South African phrase meaning, “What’s bothering you?”) a Twitter user, MmaSesebo, has revealed that her father hasn’t worked for the last 16 years.

Quoting the original tweet, MmaSesebo said, “My father is a househusband. He doesn’t want to work or start up a business to make money. It’s been going on for 16 years. He even gets an allowance from my mother monthly.”

She added that, while her mother isn’t okay with the situation, she is being blackmailed by his threat that he would kill himself.

“Every time my mother asks him to help out or do something, he threatens to kill himself. My mother doesn’t love him that way. She is not ok. She wants help from him financially and emotionally but he isn’t bothered.”

MmaSesebo revealed that her mother had been the one taking care of her and her two siblings.

Quite a lot of reactions have trailed her tweet. Some Twitter users shared their own story, while some praised her father, for pulling off the “dream” of some men.
