Accidentally my younger brother damaged a pin inside the modem; so right now I want to replace the modem with exact model...don't want her to feel bad about the whole ish, she been using it for past 3years.
Please where can I get it?
Location is Owerri.

Hilarious.

Before I left my former employer, I gave a month notice as was required. Prior to that, I had notified my MD privately that I wanted to leave. He talked me out of it, following which I stayed 4 months before tendering officially. I actually took the opportunity that he was out of the country to do that. Well, mgt notified him of my intention, he flew back the following day.

When he realized I had made up my mind, he was definitely hurt and said some cruel things for up to an hour, if not more. Na wa o. This was on top say I give notice o. On getting home, I started to contemplate whether to give them a shocker by leaving abruptly, so I took along with me to work the next day all company property ie phone, ID and such. When I got to work, I began clearing my desk and all of that.

My subordinate came to me to sign a doc as was customary and pass same on for recommendation to the co-founder of the company (she has equal authority as the MD. You can call her MD2). When the doc got to her, she directed my then sub to reproduce the doc, bypass my recommendation and bring directly to her.

That broke the camel's back for me. As someone who has zero tolerance for BS, I gave former sub one or two instructions, codedly told her I was leaving right then. She wasn't to tell anyone, I told her.

When MD1 heard I had left, I got a call from him where I was to explain why I left. In his words, I absconded. In my head I'm thinking, "that one no concern me". As a frank person, I told him I left because, "MD bypassed my recommendation". He said I was hasty concluding and tried to get me back, but I gave an excuse of being out of town, that I'd answer any questions or concerns over the phone or WhatsApp.

Employers want to treat you like shit. But you gotta respect yourself and appreciate your worth.

It can only happen in countries with lots of job opportunities. undecided

If you try this in naija, then your village people really took their assignments serious undecided

I had actually tried in 2017, though I accepted the offer and resigned later. And I never regretted it.

I will stick to a job that pays 80k per month and give me peace of mind than the one paying 250 - 300k per month come with a lot of stress, downgrading, abuse, insults, and make one feel useless....

I hate abusive interviewer.
What if the interviewer was trying to test her ability to work under stress or in odd situations?
Probably she passed the interviewer test on that.

I admire her. I too have done similar in the past.

Most times we forget that we spend more time in our jobs ( offices) than we do with our families. So if the office environment is not conducive or toxic then things like depression and ill health start creeping in.

I also understand that in a situation like we have in Nigeria where jobs are difficult to come by, such a decision will look foolish.

At the end of the day it's your happiness that counts. Know thyself cool

What is it about being a girl and not being a girl. Noticed how she carefully mentioned her being " a young lady" several times in her letter.
My point is the interviewer could have done same to just anybody depending or what he was looking for.
From her letter, I feel she exaggerated the whole thing considering that she said her ex was abusive.

Good she didn't take the job. Why make her feel worthless and still give her the job? Same way she will be treated if after taking the job and makes a slight mistake. This is the case when working especially with the Irish.

Stupid Girl.

None of that probably ever happened.

Had there not been others in the room. Perhaps she’d have thrown rape in the mix.

There no single concrete thing mentioned in the open letter.

Agreed.

You have to know your worth and be prepared to walk away if the time and /or conditions are right.

Last year I turned down a job at an oil company that wanted to pay me a nice salary but 1/10 of what my (expatriate) colleagues some of whom were ranked below me were earning. Thank you, but no and f..k you. I refuse to become a second class citizen in my own country, go look for someone else to do that.

100% correct. It is perplexing to see how the love for money has taken over the hearts of our people. And how we fail to have self-love and worth.

As a lover of freedom of expression and hate being victimized or looked down on I'd also walked out of a job because my oyibo oga felt I should be his puppet...I collected my pay check and casually jaywalked after I'd told him I wouldn't apologize for choosing to do what I knew was right... he'd made a mistake and wanted to hang it on anyone...
5 years later...I get another opportunity and boy I made the new set of oyibos know my stand and will from the onset and by the Almighty God I'm having a really great time working...
Just be your own person and never let anyone get you down...that's the neo-colonialism we read about in the papers!

I've been on such panel before and I got the job. There were 9 of them including the MD. It was like holding a conference. I got to know later the rest of them were very irrelevant. Well not so much as they were the HR, GM, Dept Heads and External Auditor. But irrelevant as to the decision making process because, well, as I made to leave, MD asked me, "how soon can you start?"
