Violation of the Sacred Place of God

When King Uzziah entered the Temple to burn incense in 2 Chron 26:16, he violated the santurary that God had set apart for his own presence. In terms of the function of the Temple, this violation was no trivial matter.

The Temple represents God sacred presence in creation. So all its rituals needed to reflect its status as sacred and set apart for God alone. This meant that no one could enter it to make offerings except those ANOINTED FOR THE TASK. The kings of Israel (unlike kings of other ancient Near Eastern cultures) were excluded from the sacred space because they were only anointed for the secular function of goverment. The King of Israel was not a priest. He was not God's representative in sacred matters nor (as in other cultures) a god himself. He was a servant of God taken from among his brothers to administer the covenant in the community.

THE ROLE OF THE KING

Deut 17:18

When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy for himself this body of instructions on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priest. He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the Lord his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees. This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendant will reign for may generations in Israel.

There can be no violations of God's holy presence, and that includes the CHURCH. It was a sacred space that he had set apart as his alone.

2 Chron 26:16-18
But when he had become powerful, he also became proud, which led to his downfall. He sinned against the Lord his God by entering the sanctuary of the LORD's temple and personally burning incense on the incense altar.

King Uzziah became very powerful and pride set in. He thought he could overrule the instructions of the LORD OF LORDS.

The same happens in the Body of Christ today, whereby a ministry grows so big, the MOG may think "Let me bring out my own bible translation", Let me buy a plane to move around; Let me build the biggest Church in the World. But King David asked God for this priviledge to build the Temple in Jerusalem, God said NO!

2 CHRON 2:17-18

Azariah the high priest went in after him with eighty other priest of the Lord, all brave men. They confronted King Uzziah and said,"It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD. That is the work of the priest alone, the descendants of Aaron who are set apart for this work. Get out of the sanctuary, for you have sinned. The LORD God will not honor you for this!"

The King did wong and was confronted. Can the same be allowed in the body of Christ, if a MOG of a church does wrong. The burning of Incense was not the issue , it is the DISOBEDIENCE AND PRIDE towards the LORD's instructions that was wrong.

Are we allowed to confront a pastor who did wrong?

There can be no violation of God's holy presence, and that includes the Church.

LET'S GO DEEPER

Not all people are called to pastor/shepherd a church. There are certain sacred duties/tasks which needs to be carried out, which can be done only by those the Lord of Host has assigned to these positions.

In Heaven, We have got "Angels" and "Ark Angels" Even the angels know their limit. It is a special kind of "Anointing" for a "Privileged few."  It is called Orderliness" in the presence of God.

CONCLUSION
Ever since the garden of Eden, humans have attempted to take Fod's sacred space as their own but they failed. Even before the exisitence of humans, Satan tried it and failed.

Why continue in the footsteps of the doomed angel.

NATURAL REVELATION

When God speaks to people directly through his word, we call it "special revelation". God also speaks to all people indirectly in natural revelation, thru the world of nature he has created.

Psalms 19:1-4
The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.

The created order is an arena of God's wisdom, and the heavens are the place of God's dwelling. The earth displays Gods qualities of fidelity, rigthteousness and wisdom. The heavens reveals the Lords glory and give evidence of his presence and handiwork. God's wisdom does not need to be spoken. Through creation, it is seen, felt, and experienced.

God's instructions to humans reveal his character and wisdom. God's instruction is precious and pleasant. It nourishes the person and is of more value than silver and gold.

Sadly, however, the Church response to God universally as a result of Adam's sin, all people turn away from the TRUE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD that they find in the world and concentrate on those things that will be destroyed at the end of time. --  SHAME

CONCLUSION

Let us use the natural revelation of God to awaken ourselves to the reality of the one true God. Empowered by the grace of God, let the beauty and intricacy of the world stimulate us to draw closer to the Creator. And then, through the special revelation he has given us in Scripture and in his Son, Jesus Christ, we can come to know him and experience his salvation

Romans2:7-8

He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.

But he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness.

Let those who have ears, hear the voice of God.
