Responsibilities

• Conducting surveys and interpreting geological data in order to inform drilling and production procedures.
• Producing written reports.
• Implements processes, policies, systems and practices within geology that contribute to effective geology operations.
• Compiles and interprets geologic and assay data that will assist in solving grade distribution questions (ore-waste boundaries, dilution) and facilitates efficient mining.
• Design open-pit and underground •mines
• Locate and appraise ore deposits
• Plan and direct mining operations.
• Decide where to dig pits for surface mining.
• Repair malfunctioning mining equipment.
• Design equipment used to excavate mines.


Specification / Qualification

• A degree in geology, geoscience or a related subject is required.
• Gaining relevant experience in the field is beneficial and is compulsory.
• Rock crushers, pulverizes, shatter cells, handheld XRF preferred
• XRF,XRD, EDXRF,QEMSCAN Preferred
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Petrographic microscope
• Field mapping
