Did the mtn sim registration today (Gosh! still have to do glo and visafone)and it felt like being booked for a crime and having a criminal record with all the irrelevant questions e.g religion, the use of digital camera to take passport and also thumbpriting electronically.
Am not so disturbed by the development since I have no hidden motives but my worries are that if/when the system is fully functional (if it doesn't fail like d National ID card idea) people will not only steal phones but the theft of sim cards will increase because other people's sim card will be used in commiting crimes by the theft.
Our sim cards has become a chip to be guarded
Is it jst me not supporting the idea? can it work? what alternative is there to reduce mobile phone fraud?

you're not the only one who's opposed. in fact, your very valid points are why i haven't registered yet my sims despite my having nothing to hide

@ all. First of all, when i registered my mtn sim, they didnt ask for my sim pack. I did not even hav to go to their office. They have their mobile units positioned in strategic locations.i strongly support the registration and the fact that all unregistered sim cards should be blocked. After that, If ur registered sim card is stolen, u simply make a report at the nearest police station and get the line blocked,

The sim registration is Total Rubbish . . .

Reports coming in shows that there are numerous multiple registration in every part of the country, Some one proudly said he registered for 10 people including members of his families, we have also heard numbers like 6, 4 etc . . . so of what use is it . .?

I am NOT registering my lines on any Nigerian network!
If dem like make dem cut am.

GSM networks that cant secure their network against effbeetee, I should entrust my personal data into their hands? God forbid.

Give them your data finish then one Arunava/Chris/RJ prodigiy will use it to play ball grin
