Uniformed men on patrol always feel like its an offence when you refuse to give them money.

It's high time our National Assembly pass a law making collection of money by uniformed men carrying arms punishable by death. Until then, we will continue to witness this type of killings.

I don't have a personal experience and I sincerely do not want to have one.

These extra Judicial killings, jungle justice etc needs to stop or be curbed. The perpetrators should also be brought to book.

Back in school days, a vigilante shot a graduate waiting to defend his project in my face. The guy that was shot, if you look at what led to his death you will realise he has been taken in the spirit before he stopped breathing.

I
Yambee:
Twice God saved me.

Once as a post- graduate student years ago. Was driving this jalopy 86 honda accord, and got stopped at this Police checkpoint near the back gate of the school, which was bushy then.

I was still very young( there was no Yahoo or even the internet then) and i got asked by one of the Policemen who owned the car,and i answered jokingly that i stole it.

The next thing i heard was KPOAAA in the Air. The trigger happy Northern Police man,who i will later got to know was drunk, just shot in the Air. I died 20 times that day. I stilll shake, when i think of that day. The other Police officers wrestled his weapon from him.

Second experience. Lagos/Ore road. I will make this one very short. Remove all overseas stickers from your bags, especially if you are driving yourself home, after you fly into Nigeria.

I did not even argue with this drunk Mopol, who insisted i should empty all my bags on the side of the road for checkups. I was just praying and fasting to God that he does not shoot me.

As God will do it, a Bini boy who had just flown in and chartered one of those transport buses to himself, and was so blinged up,and kept saying MEHN MEHN, got stopped and went into argument with the Policem men there.

They looked at me,and said OGA dey go. I left there with that guy still shouting MEHN. Only God knows what eventually happened to him.

May we not die before our time. Trigger happy law enforcement personnel are for real and will kill for nothing, especially if they drunk.

LMAO? @ mehn, mehn. grin

One experience was in 2013. I came home for summer and took up an internship offer with a Federal Special Purpose Vehicle. I was going to work around 6am to avoid traffic and was stopped at Orile by some check point officers. I had ensured the paper work was complete and updated when I came back and one of the documents was missing but I knew I had it somewhere in the car. I wasn't willing to bribe them so I offered we drive the car to the station while I check for the document before I come pick up the car from the station. Their head got angry and threatened me badly that I lost all my confidence and was super scared within. When I called my siblings they just kept saying give them money and avoid their wahala. I eventually gave them money but since then, I avoid them from afar whenever I visit. Their sight of late scares me because their boss threatened me badly that should he kill me, nothing would happen.

shocked shocked shocked

Noone experiences it and live to tell the story. I only read /hear about them. Every where is dangerous in naija, nowhere is safe. Each time I see police during stop and search I become very gentle and try let some wired mouth passengers to take it easy. Especially the ones that just like abusing/cursing the police even when they have not done anything wrong. I fear NPF so much though I'm law abiding citizen.
