Tafwees means to resign oneself to the Decisions of Allah

Depression, it seems, has become synonymous with living in a society overrun with innumerable problems. It is an ailment which has unfortunately reached epidemic proportions. In the search for a solution, we sink deeper and deeper into the abyss of depression. Hardly a day passes, without some person complaining about his failures or of the acute depression that he is suffering, due to various factors.

What I wish to discuss is Tafweez. If we learn Tafweez, then we have indeed found the antidote for depression.

We have to clearly understand, that we cannot escape the decisions of Allah Ta’ala with regard to any matter in our lives. Whatever Allah Ta’ala has decided will happen, no matter how much we may wish otherwise.

Our anxieties, depression and worries are all created because we first make the decisions and then expect Allah Ta’ala to conform; whereas what we plan and decide is subject to Allah Ta’ala’s confirmation.

You are very right my brother, the basis of depression is what you have rightly pointed out, we want Allah to conform to the action we have taken, a shortfall usher in depression ... putting the cart before the horse

The only cure for depression is to believe in qodar according to the kitab wa sunnah..


Believe that whatever happens to you, good or bad is from Allah..

And stay away from sins and BID'AH and also be prayerful..

Most importantly, be grateful for everything..

Religion makes it look like they have all solutions for depression that everything happen for a reason but in the real sense they trigger most of depression.

When a calamity befall on a religious person they most time quickly tag it spiritual attack, they start fasting and praying for days, running from one spiritual leader to another to fight their imaginary spiritual attack, this is where madness and depression start.
