The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cancelled the February 23, 2019 Presidential and National Assembly elections in Bonny local government area of Rivers state.

Election in Bonny LGA was rescheduled for a later date after voting reportedly failed to take off in the morning as expected.

The commission’s spokesperson in Rivers State, Edwin Enabo, who confirmed the development said the commission will pick a new date for the election in the LGA to hold, Premium Times reports.
