Trypophobia is an aversion to the sight of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes, or bumps. In other words, Shapes that elicit a trypophobic reaction include clustered holes in innocuous contexts, such as fruit and bubbles, and in contexts associated with danger, such as holes made by insects and holes in wounds and diseased tissue such as those caused by mango worms in animals, especially dogs. Upon seeing these shapes, some people said they shuddered, felt their skin crawl, experienced panic attacks , sweated, palpitated, or felt nauseated or itchy. Other reported symptoms include goose bumps, body shakes, feeling uncomfortable, and visual discomfort such as eyestrain, distortions, or illusions.

The newly launched Nokia 9 PureView has something no other smartphone has: a five-camera array on the back. But before the handset has even got into people's hands, there are claims that it's triggering trypophobia – a fear of clusters of small holes.

While those with trypophobia will no doubt try their best to avoid buying the Nokia 9, they might not be able to avoid having their photo taken with one of these new handsets.

The sight of the cluster of five cameras (photo below) – plus a flash and proximity sensor – on the Nokia 9 could be deeply unsettling for them. The phone is one of several that's been unveiled at the Mobile World Congress tech expo in Barcelona this week.

To be honest it is doing my body somehow. The engineers would have known better. The design is kind of irritating to be honest

Saw something like this on a colleague's phone...only this was one of those rubbish bio experiments oyinbos like to do on the human body. One kinda cultivation like that!

I had itching sensations & nightmares for months! And my sadistic brain kept replaying it. I avoided his phone & the next ones he bought like a plague.
