in my primary school, I was always first from pry1 till 5.
Then I entered secondary school, there was this dude, Mehn, he came first overall from jss1 till ss3 and I was always 2nd best. I did everything I could to pass him but no way, just imagine junior waec I had 9A's and 1c,the guy went ahead and had 10A's.

senior waec, I had 4A's and 5B's,he had 5A's and 4b's.
in our Cambridge o'level, I had 1A,3b and 1c. He had 4A's and 1 C.

it was just impossible to perform above Him, even when we left school, we went to an academy and wrote our Cambridge A'level. the guy still bested me there.
we are both medical students now sha(thank God) , buh different school and we re very good friends,the guy has been shouting since that it's too hard, he's found it difficult to get any distinction in any of the courses. I've had 1 so far sha. this life sef.

buh now in medical school, I've met the 'worst' intelligent people, these guys just Dey try relegate me to bench.
I work so hard, but Mehn, these guys here,their brain Dey retain everything.
I'm even tired of competing with them sef, make I just pass comot here, and practise.

Just saw the question in your quote. Yes, he's in a uni now, and he's still as bright and one of the most levelheaded teens I know. But a lot has changed, he knows better than telling me such in public now especially when I earn my money.

Yeah, he still does, but not the kid who bought and sold anything from old PS to old phones to his classmates. A lot of things happened (unfortunate occurrences) within those years and he's not as savvy or should I say as interested as I thought he'd still be. Plus he had some issues gaining admission and at a time all his focus was on getting into school.

Back in my school days I was the first overall with an average mark of 80.2, that was from Js1 to Js3. I thought I have arrived since I got 1 eye and the rest were blind. Lol. I am not doubting my I.Q either.
Then after our junior waec which I smashed 5A's or so. I strolled into Ss1 to continue my streak. First term, I took the normal then came a particular Girl. Her name was Joy. As quiet as a Lamb but Brain sharper than Samuria sword. At first she maintained a low profile as she came in mid term so had to do a lotta note taking. Impresively, she took the 4th position not withstanding her late entry into our school. I perceived immediately that she can give me a run for the 1st place. Next term she was on fire, answering questions here and there. She can spot a lil Maths miscalculation from a thousand miles. Correcting even our Maths teacher who edifies himself as a guru. I swear i couldnt keep up, She was always a step ahead in most test we took.
Maths test i had 9/10, she smashed a 10. I was afraid she was gonna oust me from seat. Our form teacher called me and advised me to up ma game that it would be quite shameful if she dissociates me like an unwanted ion. Men i had to struggle, had to maintain my reputation as the exams where neigh. Had to read twice as hard as i was reading before. Noticed She wasnt that good in Sciences, Maths exclusive. So i had to exploit this flaw to the fullest. Dude read double time in the night time. Exams came and passed. Time to share the exam scripts. I was the prefect Then so i was given sole responsibilty of sharing these scripts. For Every script given to me, I singled out hers and compared the marks. Girl was on my tail bumper to bumper. The results were out and with a shaky and beating heart i snatched mine without even checking my score and ran off to a solitary scene. I sat down, picked out the result from my bag then shut my eyes. Begging Father Lawd not to forsake me. Gently, I opened my left eye then the right and traced down to the line where position was written.
1st!
Phew! Average of 73.6 or so. Not bad. Couldnt contain my joy back, I made some unrehearsed acrobatics and handsprings, almost broke my spine tho.
She traced me to where i was sweating like an egg laying peacock, outstretched her hands with a smile and said ' Congratulations '. We shook hands and she asked what i scored. Asked her to tell me first, she did and I returned the favour.
Next term resumed and I heard she was out of School! Parents relocated to another state so she had to leave.
I swear if she had stayed 1 more term, I would have been licked off that position.
I have met so many Inteligent peeps but she tops the list.
Girl almost made me run mad from reading.
Guess competition helps build us to discover our excess lapses, then take correction if you want to be a step ahead.

I've met a lot of intelligent people and they've all been striking in their own way. But personally I think one of the most intelligent people I know would be my kid brother.

Here's why;

He was ten years old, and I was in uni and he was always lending money to my sisters and her friends that were constantly staying at our house (he saves a lot from buying and selling stuff and from his lunch money), so I decided to try my luck and I go; "K***, borrow me 2k, I'll pay you back"

Kid bro: See, the problem is not that I can't give you the money o, but how will you pay me? You don't have money, you don't work, nothing nothing. So how will you pay me

Yes, I was infuriated at that time and told him to go to hell (yeah, I was that petty) but I respect him for that till today. I'm not sure I'd have thought the same thing at that age. And even if I did, I'd probably have given out the money because saying no can be hard for me sometimes.


So, yes, he's one of the smartest people I know till date.

It happened in 100 level in the university. Because I had a solid secondary school foundation, I did not think anyone could out smart me in class in the university.
I hardly attend lecture. All I did during exams time was to get all the past questions, answer them and that's all.

There is this girl called Temmy... I never knew this girl is so intelligent.

Where Joy and Temmy dey now?
I hope they haven't gotten dickstracted or relegated to the kitchen and other room?

How do you do that?

My definition of intelligence is an ability to solve any problem you encounter. Be it conflict, books, etc.

Male: The overall best student in my set. This guy is a super computer. He is friendly, accommodating, and always knew what to do or say. This combined with his academic brilliance made me look up to him.

Female: A girl who was a wide reader. Kept telling her she could make first class in anything she studied. Academically brilliant, and had this ability to make everyone speechless when she spoke. Always had the best advice for any problem her friends had.
Though she initially got carried away (like most women) with the numerous men chasing her, she's now focused and doing very well now in her business.

Deicide:
Intelligence is a board term being that there are different types of intelligence.
Book smart (IQ)
Linguistically smart
Instrumentally smart
Lyrically smart etc

I don't think intelligence can be limited to a particular field. You can't be intelligent in one area and be dull in another. It's somewhat a basic concept expressed in the ability to comprehend things appropriately (not necessarily EASILY) and being able to ask logical questions that proceed what you've just learned. The reason why I don't consider easy comprehension as a basic factor for intelligence is the fact that there are slow thinkers and fast thinkers. Slow thinking isn't a sign of stupidity. Some people just tend to produce much more better when they are alone and not under pressure. My question is this: can a good memory also account for intelligence?

Met quite a few over the years but one guy stood out from them all.

He used to come late to class and seat at the back with his bottle of coke. Later found out it was no ordinary coke. The dude was perpetually high with a stash of weed in his sling bag. I quickly wrote him off as someone with below average intelligence. That perception changed the day I came late to class and had to seat with him at the back of the class.

I watched him sipping his bottle of coke and jotting with his ugly handwriting. Then the lecturer threw a couple of questions at the class and this guy mumbled the answers to himself. It piqued my interest. I said hello and asked him why he didn't raise his hand to answer the question. He gave a vague reply.

Another question was thrown, he mumbled the answer and I quickly raised my hand and blurted out the answer. The lecturer was really impressed. Apparently, even the Masters students didn't know the answer.

I became close friends with this unassuming genius. He knew all the countries, their capitals, and currencies. He was a savant in football. He knew the names of clubs in Europe and the names of their stadiums. He could tell you who came in third in the Balon d'or in 2001 or who finished 15th in the Bundesliga in 2007

I dont know her whereabouts since she moved out. My friends neither.
I think she will be working class lady by now. So intelligently blessed a girl.
