No, that won't be necessary.
We need to discover new talents.
Nigeria has educated and enlightened people everywhere in the world. Obasanjo and Jonathan discovered many Nigerian technocrats. I've yet to see Buhari discover any...i have yet to see any outstanding government appointee.
And the call by Aisha Buhari to give only card-carrying members of the party appointment is something I find very embarrassing.

Bt that’s exactly the problem they don’t know how to find new and credible talent like obasanjo and Jonathan did.

I will agree with aisha that card carrying members shud be rewarded with appointments bt only with routine like and non challenging ones. The challenging jobs/appointments should go to the best hands for the job. That’s the only way forward.

The Financial Times of London says President Muhammadu Buhari has been running a government that lacks a clear direction in the last four years.

The respected newspaper therefore called on the President to see his re-election as an opportunity to do the right thing.

The Financial Times said this in its editorial which has been read and shared thousands of times around the world.

It said there was no clear economic policy like that of Rwanda and Ethiopia.

It read in part, “With his renewed mandate, it is now Mr Buhari’s task to rebuild faith by running a dynamic and successful administration and by building the institutions that can lay firmer foundations than in his previous term.

“The omens from his first four years in office are not good. During that time, the former military leader ran a lacklustre administration with no obvious sense of direction. There was no coherent economic strategy of the sort being attempted by the likes of Ethiopia, Rwanda or west African neighbours Ghana and Senegal to produce the rapid growth needed to haul tens of millions of people out of poverty. It is an indictment of its leadership — both military and democratic — that the continent’s biggest oil producer should have more people living in absolute poverty than any other country in the world.”

FT advised the President to appoint more technocrats in his second term who can help turn things around.

The newspaper said the anti-corruption war must be more holistic and less selective.

FT added, “Mr Buhari’s priority this time must be to set out a coherent agenda, implemented by technocrats rather than ideologues, to turn things around. Nigeria desperately needs to create a level playing field for business in which access to foreign currency, permits, and other requirements is both predictable and rational.

“His much-vaunted crackdown on corruption must go beyond taking action against a few minor officials. Some big scalps would help. More important still is to implement systematic changes — whether by reforming institutions, using technology or by removing arbitrage opportunities — to create a more transparent environment. People should prosper in Nigeria based on what they know and how much value and employment they can create, not by their connections.”

Britain are not deficit in infrastructural development and lack basic social amenities, they don't encourage importation of common food . So which economic direction are you talking about ?

This Financial Times cum Foreign Journalist are just mischievous.

Is corruption fighting and recovery of looted find not a direction?
Is local production of Rice not a direction?
Is reducing government fund wastage and blocking financial loop holes not a direction?
Is provision of infrastructure not a direction?

These foreign media does not and have determined not to see anything good in the country except how their sponsors want them to see and report it.

Why are you so pained?

I will not laugh I swear
Vision-less government is what PDP ran for the good 16 years, they are also coming with another vision-less government and the good people of Nigeria rejected it outrightly.

UK is even affected with the absence of looted funds from Nigeria in their country economy.
The way they prosecute and seized Ibori properties in their country has sweetened their body and wants more.
The government that has direction is the one that used a pastor's jet to shiphon dollars from cbn to South Africa.

That is just on the economic part. What about the other part where we have seen more division along ethnic and tribal lines? The other part where leadership has been set at only one part of the country to the detriment of the other. Where more knowledgeable people have been brushed aside for mediocres to lead? It is clear to all who can see the tomorrow of this country that we may not be a nation by 2023.

If you could actually afford to subscribe to the Financial Times, you'd have been aware that they already do precisely what you suggest, publishing in-depth criticism of leaders like Theresa May and Donald Trump every single day, as opposed to the passing mention they make of Nigeria every once in a while. If you have nothing substantive to say in rebuttal of articles like this one, perhaps it would be best not to write anything at all, instead of so blatantly showing up your ignorance in public.

So if you voted for buhari your state of mind is obscured inspite your education.

Again, i ask the question, are nigerians having access to quality education?
The answer is capital NO!

The schools we go here are terrible, thats why we cant think to understand that this buhari is a fool.

And just like we have all faced this 4 years of economic quagmire administered by this illiterate president, nigerians should get ready for the next 4 years of sorrow.
