Tata-owned Jaguar Land Rover has won a case in China against Jiangling Motors Corp for making cars that copy features of Range Rover Evoque.

The Beijing Chaoyang District Court said on Friday that the Evoque SUV had five unique features that were copied directly in the Landwind X7 built by Jiangling Motors.

The Chinese court ruled that all sales, manufacturing and marketing of the Landwind vehicle must stop immediately and Jaguar Land Rover be paid compensation.

Jaguar Land Rover’s spokesperson said:


JaguarLandrover first sued the Chinese based Jiangling Motor over the Landwind X7 in 2016. The UK-based automaker said it was the first time that a Chinese court has ruled in favour of foreign company over a Chinese carmaker.

There is so much to corporate governance than people understand.

It doesn’t mean Tata is the sole owner - it only means they hold the majority shares in that company. It’s still a traditional British company - because the management and ideology of the company largely remain British.

Companies invest in successful businesses in more developed societies because of access to larger and more profitable markets. Plus Tata Steel is a a very strong, if not the second largest, steel making company in the UK.

Bro stop deceiving urself, this guy invested money not Technology, the west is very clever, unlike we Africans, if your investment is going to threaten thier security they tell you to Hold your money as can been seen in the case of HUWAI. Look inside the Jag and Range, there aren't any Asian future or anything resembling Tata inside its all British. Let me also re-instate here, the brand was sold not the Technology hence all of its plants are in the UK still even though its a private company.

They are major shareholders, they call the executive shots. Yes tech wise the British got their exclusive rights but it doesn't mean that a research division can't go down if it is hurting the shareholders. Look at what Elon Musk is facing with Tesla.
