At the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, it was recently unveiled, the Father’s Nursing Assistant. It is bizarre gadget that tends to allow fathers to help reduce the stress of breastfeeding by mothers. Research shows that much of the stress and difficulties on parental is associated with taking care of their offspring are related to breastfeeding and sleeping, responsibilities in which fathers’ get involved tends to be low.

In order to get the attentions of the fathers to participate more and relieve some of the work-load off mothers, Japanese corporation Dentsu has invented device which is either refer to as a formula tank or wearable milk shaped inform of female breasts, which allows men to breastfeed babies.

The Father’s Nursing Assistant is modeled after a woman’s breasts, with one section serving as for housing the milk or formula tank, and the other being the breastfeeding port equipped with a silicone nipple. The device is heated to simulate the warmth of the mother’s body and enable the baby to sleep peacefully in his father’s arms.


Apart from the fact that the Father’s Nursing Assistant serves as breastfeeding device shaped milk tank. It also vibrates to help induce sleep to the baby, it also has a features sensors that track the infant’s sleeping behavior and breastfeeding rate, in which the data will then being exported to a smartphone to be viewed via a dedicated app.

This Father’s Nursing Assistant device is still in the concept stage, but who knows, one day soon breastfeeding of babies could become father and mother responsibility.
