I agree. it's all about being informed about the optons that are available. There is no reason to sign up or use a blackberry if all you use it for is social networking. Any smartphone or even a basic phone will do the same thing. As for mails, any smartphone with an email client will do the same. For example, the email clients on my Nokia and windows mobile phones both do "push email". Like others said, I think the BB thing is just a fad in Naija at the moment.

Re: My Thought On The Blackberry Service In Nigeria by aaidel(m): 1:55am On Sep 28, 2010
well i dont know about the bandwidth usage talk but i used to be a blackberry user and the main reason i got it was my girl is in the uk and we usually communicate by txting which as you know is 15 naira so if i send an average of 20 each da thats about 600 a month now multiply that by 15 thats 9000 so its much much cheaper for me to do the bb thing. the browsing and other stuff are just by the way all i'm saying is that like 20% of people that get the bb phones do so for genuinely good reasons. besides everyone knows getting a phone like a car is never about if you can afford it
p.s i gave out the phone cos of too much downtime on the glo bb service
