It all started when we were writing Jamb. I enrolled at a Jamb class not far from my home. It was here that I had the rudest awakening of my life.

I taught I was going to meet young people who were going to be serious with Jamb because of the high rate of failure and limited places available, instead it was as though I was thrown into a fashion circus.

People just threw moral out of the window, all I saw was boobs carelessly covered and wanton touching and smooching. It was as if these young people have been released from the boredom that is proper dressing and manners.

How did I become so obsessed with porn that it is ruining my life?

It all started when Genevieve sat close to me on the bench in Physics Class. She made small talk and began to copy from my notes as the teacher’s dictation was too fast for her. While Genevieve went on copying her notes, I couldn’t but help notice the petite boobs begging for attention. A green horn like me, I was too distracted, she herself wouldn’t help matters, time and again, she would rub her boobs against my shoulders; speak of glory in boobsland.

I was in a distracted and sexually charged mood as I made my way home. Need I say that I did not understand anything we were taught that day, all I wanted to do was go to my small corner of the house and soak myself in the glories of the Pornographic contents in my mobile devise.

And thus began my obsession with porn, a habit picked up that has become my greatest undoing.

Can you imagine been in a state of constant sexual tension at all times, parading a hostile erection around the block? Then you can understand the health challenge I must be facing.

I am always distracted at work, I stare at skirts and waists and compare them to those of my porn heroes, I am always trying unemotive and rather inhuman sexual moves with my girlfriend, to cap it all I am helplessly sexually triggered at the sight of a recklessly abandoned boobs. What sort of miserable life I am living.

Doctor after doctor have tried prescriptions to no avail, psychologists and therapists have tried a number of bespoke solutions yet no success, even my Pastor has pontificated and exorcised me yet the demons have proved resilient.

Last time out I was at the Doctor’s for my regularly scheduled checkup, a working guy like me can do with regular maintenance can’t I? The good doctor quietly listened to my litany of complaints- waist pain, body weakness, occasional body temperature, early appearance of wrinkles and grey hair among others.

He ordered a couple of routine tests which all came out fine except for something he called platelets levels, I don’t really remember now. To avoid making mistakes, he recommended that I do a MRI Scan which revealed I had low sperm count.

Now you see how Porn has ruined my life, the doctor said I do not have enough sperm. I do not need one of Nigeria’s battery of prophets to tell me I may not be able to impregnate my wife talkless of satisfying her Sexually. To add insult to injury, I am my mothers only son and before long, they will be expecting Babtunde and Iyabo.

The doctor has ordered more tests to ascertain the level of damage. Meanwhile, I have destroyed all my pornographic properties, films, videos, magazines and what have you – a fruitless worthless investment.

It has been suggested that over 25 million Nigerians are in the danger of causing extensive health damage to themselves by their addiction to pornographic contents and material.

Maybe you can learn from my challenge with pornographic consumption and make the needed adjustments. I have sheared my story in the celebration of the 2019 World Health Day. I hopes it brings relief to those who need it.
