Gen.Gowon betrayed Late Maj.Gen.JTU Aguiyi Ironsi by later leagueing with northern rebels being led by then late Gen.Murtala Muhammed to be crowned HOS on the 29th of July 1966 @ Ikeja Barracks.

Well, a fact remains that nearly all of them involved in the northern military conspiracies in this histroy of Nigeria have all had one woeful nemesis befelling them or the other.
What about the other part of the story? How Igbo kill northern leaders....

Yet He organized the restoration "Nigeria Prays" which turned the country around from Military to Civilian rule. God has a role for everyone. Today he is a Minister of God. He has been President and what more does he need in life. Keep dreaming

and God have forgiven the atrocities him and his northern elite committed against humanity...has he ever for ones apologised for going against an agreement...wasn't he among the uneducated morons packaged as leaders that pepertuated the 1966 massacre..

I don't want to judge gowon by the event that lead to the civil war because anybody would have done the same in his shoes,but is obvious that gowon is akaward looking at how the marooding herders has dealt with his people, u expects such a man to speak with balls ,but no he will continue licking assess.

He was very shocked at first, immediately he arose from his sit at the African Unity conference, while moving out of the conference he was being interviewed by foreign Journalist, who were very desperate to know maybe he was aware of the news of his overthrown as the Head of state.

THIS IS AN EMOTIONAL MOMENT FOR THE THEN GENERAL YAKUBU GOWON ( NOW RETIRED )

IMAGINE THE FEELING OF LOOSING POWER IN THE PRESENCE OF INTERNATIONAL DIGNATRIES THAT WERE PRESENT IN THAT MEETING.

THE EMBARRASEMENT AND THE SHAME.

GENERAL GOWON WAS EVEN USING MILITARY CHARACTER TO CURTAIL THE SAD FEELING AND SHOULDER OFF THE PAIN OF LOOSING POWER.

IT IS SOMETHING THAT CAN MAKE ONE TO CRY.

I can see the then Uganda dictator Marshal Idi Amin Dada also consoling General Gowon
