A Chinese trader has been crowned as a chief in Kano, Nigeria.

The Emir of Kano, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II has approved the appointment and instalment of a Chinese man, Mr Mike Zhang, as a chief and leader of the growing Chinese community in the northern Nigerian state.

This was done in a bid to enhance interaction and business with the Chinese in Kano State.

Mike Zhang's new title of Wakilin Yan China, translates to 'leader of the Chinese residents' and represents the growing importance of the community in Kano.

Thank you.. even in Kano I am sure they have Eze Ndi Igbo.. we just too tribalistic in this country and that's why the country cant moved an inch forward

Wakilin Yan China congrats but let no one complain about Eze Ndi Igbo in Kano or Ibadan. All these are mere symbolism of trade relationships.
