I am a surveyor, so most of my jobs are either, through rugged terrains, terrible roads and bush paths. So I needed a car, that could run the purpose of being a site vehicle, and I can also use the same car for travelling and occasions.
I thought of a VW Touareg, Lexus Rx330, Hilux (out of budget), a friend gave Ford F150 as an option. Budget is not more than ₦1.5 -₦ 2m ..
Considering after purchase maintenance..
Any better options, brothers and sisters...

VW Touareg is not a beans vehicle to maintain, how many do you still see on the road? if you find the diesel engine just buy sharp sharp because you will probably die b4 it does, but the maintenance and electrical is something else.

Lexus RX330 is not an SUV but a CUV I can assure you the rate at which you will change tie rod, linkage, shock absorber, bushings etc will not be pocket friendly when you take this baby to extreme off-road and carrying load. It also depends on the terrain rocky and stony terrain weaken suspension parts.

The hilux is a reliable and Swiss knife for your job. if you find a good one within your budget you can buy.

other notable mentions

Nissan frontier or pathfinder

Isuzu trooper/Acura SLX

Honda/Isuzu passport rodeo

Ford Everest or Ranger (Europe/Asian)

You might need a little more than 2M. Toyota Hilux/Tacoma is what you need.

For an surveyor, i will advice you buy a 03/05 Toyota Highlander.. This will serve you better..

As a starter, i will also say you start with a Used one then later upgrade..

Thank me later

Thanks..... Am grateful, but I ain't buying the Honda bro... I know it accelerates faster than Toyota, but I prefer the Ford F150, or the Highlander mentioned above, of course a clean Tokunbo will be an option for now... Got other things to do with cash
