Bro, I work in one of the FG Colleges of Education and I can tell you the pay isn't that bad, for BSc, you're gonna earn nothing less than 1m after deductions annually. So you going to the Uni is a very good choice with better pay. The Job Security is Second to none, salary is constant, promotion in Higher Institutions is also constant, Pension, Freedom amongst others. I relocated from Lagos to get the job too. I was scared initially but glad I made the move. Cost of living here is damn cheap, etc. Just make sure you join one Cooperative in the school so you won't spend all your salary anyhow. I save 65% of my income monthly to tell you how reasonable the cost of living is. Being a civil servant with FG is good only if you don't spend above your means and be moderate in your dealings as well.

Bro congratulations. first, i doubt that both salaries are almost equal because federal govt has increased minimum wage, thats a game changer. did u calculate base on the new wage? second, i wish u stated the state u live and the state you are to relocate to. but relocation is never a bad thing you a man, step out as long as the new state is safe and take new challenges. third, federal govt job has security. no matter how economy hard, they never sack and salary would always come. remember that! fourth, fed jobs will give u time for other things. there is a wonderful work/life balance there. use the extra time and nurture ur investments.

Get a government scholarship and do your PHd = promotion.

In ten years (if you're serious and smart) you become a professor earning close to a MIL in a secured job.

My candid advise is to go for federal job. First, There is job security. Second, you will be able to pursue your carrier in an academic environment. Please, think twice before you stake your carrier on private job,they can change everything for you overnight and you won't be able to do anything. Multinational company did it for me and my colleagues and we are now at home licking our wound after our initial gra gra.

To solve your problem of confusion , think only of having only one job offer i.e the Private since the Federal have not issued any appointment letter yet. Start the private and when you later get appointment letter for federal and you decide to go give them the 2 weeks notice in the private and if you are not interested stick to the private that requires no relocation.

My advice : go for the Federal job.
Reasons: it is highly secured, u rise fairly quickly, u get to network and av much tym to yourself.

The Confusion is not accepting the offer but lack of appointment letter its just based on hearsay that his name is amongst latest employment list by an insider but no 100% guarantees that it will materialize into appointment latter yet.

Be grateful and keep trying your luck and think of business (starting small also) for you just completed NYSC last year and you are complaining what do you want those who completed NYSC since 1997/2005 and have never had job opportunities(some even pray to just have a place to go even if no salary but nothing. )
