I have pondered on the reason why everyone talks about single mums but not single dads. A boy and girl have sex and a baby comes in, both of them are single parents but we keep hearing "single mum's are this and that..."
Single mum's are dreaded and seen as people with scars. Look at the depravity a lady has to go through because she has a child out of wedlock but no one ponders twice before accepting a single dad...
Let's be fair here, why is abortion seen as a normal stuff and pregnancy out of wedlock a taboo?why not both genders having kids out of wedlock be castigated?

I always vouch for chastity everyday,but it's foul that single mums and single dads are treated differently.

Kids, please back off this thread if you have nothing but vile to post, remember your words are a product your relationship with yourselves.

firstly, single dads are also castigated.. especially when they run away from their responsibilities. why put a girl in a family way when you know you are not ready...another stuff..what is stopping the female from telling the male to use condom..the reality is this, women are in charge of reproduction..she can decide to have the child or not but when she decides to have the child even with the unseriousness of the man..she should be ready to also take the consequences that comes along with it.

secondly, another reason why many single mums are castigated is that friends and family might have warned her of the type of guy she is serious about..they must have seen his unseriousness..when she gets pregnant and he runs away..they get disappointed and angry at her that even after all the advice she still went ahead and get pregnant for him.

thirdly, another stuff is finance..why bring more burden to us financially even though she knew the financial situation of the family..taking care of a child takes a lot of cash.

lastly, abortion is not seen as normal stuff because it is illegal here in Nigeria... pregnancy out of wedlock is seen as irresponsible because of religious and traditional value.

to let you know..there are millions of women who will not agree to marry a single dad

there are a lot of couples who didn't do marriage and ended up being together..nobody is stopping them from staying together..the reason, why they want them to marry, is to make the marriage binding and legal.

in respect to abortion..women that have done abortion can be dated, many of them even get married..there is no law saying if you have done abortion before, you wouldn't be able to marry.. everything comes down to individual preference, the problem here is the deceit of not telling the man that she has done abortion before and it has affected her fertility..but also we shouldn't forget the emotional trauma that abortion does to a woman.

Women should be more responsible and careful when it comes to s.ex. Contrary to opinions, there is no equal joint responsibility on getting pregnant and giving birth. There are more burdens on the woman. I am totally against abortion and women should be more educated on what are equalities andwhat is not.
