Last procession rites for Olowo

The last procession rites for any Olowo of Owo known in local parlance as Oyingbo Omologho has been performed for late Oba Victor Folagbade Olateru-Olagbegi in Owo.

During the colourful rites of passage, all commercial activities were put on hold in the ancient town as a mark of respect for the dead monarch.

The Iloro Chiefs who are custodians of Owo traditions led the procession with women carrying Apasa amidst songs and drumming.

An interdeno-minational funeral service will hold in Owo on Sunday May 19 2019, for the monarch bringing to a final close all burial arrangements for him

Meanwhile, the Owo Muslim Community has held a Jumat service for the late Olowo.
