It wasn't the last game but the title clinching game. Ended 3-0. Next game, went to the Emirates and received the guard of honour.

That goal against Spain in Brazil showed one thing: the brilliance of Van Persie. He created a chance out of nowhere.

You don't see strikers like this all the time. I am lucky that he played in my lifetime.

He was Arsenal's greatest transfer mistake, was handed over on a platter of gold to Man U to win the PL for them, what an enigma he was at the time. Wish him a blissful retirement.

If arsenal had not endured his frequent injuries, they might have done better...He would never have been kept for the long years he stayed with arsenal under Fergusson with all his injuries..
