Facebook itself was a stolen idea from the beginning, Mark paid his colleague off with a huge amount.
But nothing lasts forever, Facebook will soon be an old idea. Africans are the reason Facebook is over popular, because the number of underaged kids using fb are almost at par with the aged users, cos there is no strick adherence to PG (parental guidance) rule in Africa especially naija.

they spy on people's information/chats. Politicians, marketers offer alot of money for this info. Facebook and Instagram does same. They all hide behind "your messages are encrypted". Its all a scam.

I would never have guessed that Facebook was such a ruthless competitor.

It's dominance in social media is phenomenal with it's ownership of WhatsApp and Instagram with both a billion uses each.

Till date, Microsoft is still minting money from it's operating system despite the internet. I foresee Facebook doing incredibly well in the future despite the rise of any innovative disruptor.

It still amaze me how WhatsApp worth such amount without a single advertisement placement

No need to keep being amazed, the reason is in the write up. He didn’t buy it for profit, he bought it to kill competition. He has the money and just wants to remain on top.

Facebook has some of the best programmers in the world.
They are paid handsomely for their contributions to the firm.
Facebook is also investing massively in innovative research to keep adding new exciting features to the network.
Uncle, if man work, make him chop
Mark has paid the price, he deserves every good thing that comes his way.

Thank you so much for this.

I also doff my hat for MARK for using young Nigerian programmers cutting across Educational institutions in the country for innovative technologies. Most of which are already excelling in their latest innovations. I am a strong witness to that.

I knew about the trial. It didn't have anything to do with collecting Intel. It's about advertizing for customers (Rusaians) which ultimately influenced the election.

That's not totally true, it wasn't just to kill competition, he bought it to leverage on it and improve on Facebook, because his focus with Facebook is to connect everyone with each other and he knows that Whatsapp deals with phonebooks which connects people too, that why he had to buy it and integrate the two, so that if you save someone's number now on your phonebook, automatically the person appears as people you may know on your facebook account
