Ban Alcohol, Gambling;; Forfeit Revenue Therefrom. by Nobody: 8:58am On May 19, 2019 |
A friend of mine visited Bauchi state and lodged in a Hotel; would you believe that they were not allowed to take beer in the Hotel?. This same Bauchi state shares out of the company taxes and VAT paid by Guinness and Nigeria Breweries to Federal government. I just read on Nairaland that Bauchi State House of Assembly is about to pass a bill to criminalise betting. If any state can criminalise the consumption of alcohol and sport betting,, such a state should be religious enough to criminalise being a beneficiary of the revenue that it earns from sport betting and alcohol.. This is my opinion. What's yours? 6 Likes 1 Share |

You don't need to ban. Just create employment for the youths and the youths will ban themselves. Get more customers and clients. List your business on https://www.nairakobo.com.ng/ |

Personally I dont care what anyone bans as long it doesn't violate constitutional rights. Its part of living in a republic and people can choose where they live. How this play out in court will be interesting because it could go either way. Then they have to figure out what to cut which is a rabbit hole. Scenario 1: they agree the the revenue shouldn't be shared. Scenario 2: they say it ok to share since nass has power of purse to legislate. 163. Where under an Act of the National Assembly, tax or duty is imposed in respect of any of the matters specified in item D of Part II of the Second Schedule to this Constitution, the net proceeds of such tax or duty shall be distributed among the States on the basis of derivation and accordingly - |
