Sir, I have decided to write you this letter having waited for five months with the hope that the concerned wicked and corrupt officers would change their bad way as things progress, but from the look of things it would never be as selfishness and callousness are naturally part of them. 26Bn Nigerian Army Sokoto under 8Division Nigerian Army, also in Sokoto is an operation unit saddle with the responsibility of tackling the menace of bandits and kidnappers in Sokoto and it's environ. In which Nigerian Army provides logistics and financial supports for the effectiveness and smooth running of the operation, but some bad eggs in the name of officers within 26Bn have hijacked the monthly operation allowance of troops. This wicked act started this year January under the former commanding officer Lt Col IY Aminu(late) till date. Every soldier can not be in the bush at the same time, some are on standby while some are on various duties within the barracks, apart from those soldiers in the bush that are been paid #45.000 monthly, 26Bn authority is now selecting some soldiers and paid them different amounts such as: Commanding Officer's escorts-#45.000 each soldier, Clerks in Battalion Headquarters -#45.000 each soldier, Battalion Quarter guard-#14.000 instead of #45.000, some loyal head of department -#45.000 and some soldiers who are a bit closer to officers like Batman and others-#10.000 with the sluggan" Chop and clean mouth ". The allowances are supposed to be paid directly to every soldier's account like operation lafiya dole in Maiduguri and other operations like Plateau, Benue and Rivers States and 26BN cannot be an exemption because all troops names and account numbers were compiled in January and troops were also addressed by Maj Gen Otiki(GOC 8DIV) that the allowance will be paid to everyone. Why the sudden change? Now, the most annoying and dangerous things behind the wicked act of 26Bn authority is that the selective payments has caused enmity between the soldiers because some are feel cheated while some are feeling more important in the unit irrespective of your rank. I view of these, i urge you to please call the concerned unit authority to order immediately to change its way and do the needful before it goes out of hand. Thanks and God bless.
