Unlike the typical political parties that were built from scratch, the All Progressives Party (APC), was “genetically modified.” In other words, it was a fusion of both micro and regional political parties whose primary aim was to end the hegemony of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), especially at the centre.

This it successfully did in 2015 after wrestling Nigeria from the grip of then President Goodluck Jonathan who was almost going to run the country aground given his gross incompetence to deal with the twin evils of grand corruption and insecurity.

But ever since APC became the dominant party in Nigeria, it has suffered from serious internal crisis that forced the likes of Dino Melaye, Bukola Saraki, and Yakubu Dogara back to their vomit (PDP) as well as nearly cost Buhari the presidential election, if not for some resilient strategies that were deployed to neutralise the seemingly brilliant antics of Atiku and his stalwarts.
