Have you physically inspected and test drove both? Get a professional vehicle inspection conducted on both....

Going by the rule of thumb...... The Tokunbo should represent better all round value........

Not guru o, but Either one you choose, get someone trustworthy who knows those cars inside out to inspect, scan and test drive before you buy.

One can buy a faulty car sef, as long as one knows what the fault is and is ready to fix.

Buy the Tokunbo if they are the same price

Because:

1. Car wey dem use for Nigeria condition can never be the same as car used in foreign condition.

2. Toyota Corolla is very popular and prone to abuse by naija mechanics because those cars can continue moving from point A to B but with hidden problem that will later manifest into big expenses.

3. Nigerians are very fond of selling off cars that have serious expensive issues to unsuspecting victims.

Once you tell them Nigerian that your car has one big wahala, the next advice is to tell you to sell it.

Otherwise the Nigerian used must be much cheaper, so that in case you've bought wahala, you can use the money saved to fix.

Take the 03 Corrolla. Here are tips to know a sound engine.

1- Let the engine idle for 40 min to 1 hour, Then go put your hand in the tail pipe, if you notice any greasy fluid, Run for your life.

2- listen to the engine when idling, if you hear any knocking sound, run for your life.

3- open the oil cap while the car is idling, if you see smoke from that hole, Run for your life.

4- Take your mechanic to inspect for leak underneath the engine, inspect the body of the car.

5- check the transmission oil, make sure its pink, if it's dark, run for your life, the previous owner is careless.

6- make sure the smoke from the tail pipe is never black, blue or white. It must be grey, Anything from grey, run for your life.

Follow all what i just wrote you then any other fixes is minor such as suspension system plus brakes system etc.

It's only in Nigeria that I see people buying 20 year old used cars and talking about 'resale value'

When it's not classic or antique car

If not for Nigerian condition .......
