Please o my people, I need burnt bone ashes (bone meal) as a source of phosphorus for my plant. I just start a mini backyard garden, (container). I've planted the seeds in a seedling tray and have germinated, now I'm trying to look for nutrients to feed them. I bought a miracle-grow fertilizer from an online gardening equipment seller in lagos later to know its not organic fertilizer because I read it on google after buying it... now I'm trying to look for organic fertilizer to feed my seedlings after they grow their true leaf. If anyone has for sale please let me know

You are right. Most Miracle-Gro products are synthetic.

If you are bent on using organic, you cannot survive it in Nigeria without using compost. If you doubt me, try using these foliar sprays around, you will not get it done well cos the nutrients inside are very low. Don't just buy from anyone you do not trust.

Bone Meal - Ca5(OH)(PO4)3 - 55.82% calcium oxide, 42.39% phosphorus pentoxide, and 1.79% water. You then need to consider the % of Phosphorus in Pentoxide. lol.

Bone Meal is different from bone ash. As soon as you turn it to complete ash, it is more of potassium, and not phosphorus.

Bone Meal is a slow fertilizer. Since you need a fast one, and I assume compost in your soil is not enough, you need fast release phosphorus. Not saying bone meal is not a good source, but I am not sure how readily available the kind you get will be. So, I might look into fermented organic fertilizers if I were you. And you just need to learn how to make them. They can be hectic and time consuming to make. I just hate making them. It's the truth. I prefer feeding through soil, and not foliar.

Using compost tea is another option. But what you get around is manure, and I can assure you that you will burn your plants with manure tea. You just should have used a very good compost for basal soil preparation. Good soil preparation is the best.

At this tender plant stage, your best option is to combine:
1. Fish Meal (fresh) - Nitrogen + Phosphorus
2. Cucumber Skin Ash - Phosphorus + Potassium

And you can make them readily available if you ferment them. The process might take you more than a week. So, if you do not want to have challenges with your seedlings (I do not even know the crop), use miracle gro for now till you finish making your organic fertilizers. Or better you continue using miracle gro till when you want to transplant if you need to. And then, bombard your pot with compost, microbes, enzymes, etc. And make sure you have a way of recirculating water which run out of your pots, else, you will reduce microbes population instead of increasing them

Trust me, using miracle gro at this stage will not have any impact on you or on your health. Everything will wash away. The seedlings are still very small. Go on with miracle gro for now, while you learn making your organic nutrients.
