Got this from silicon Africa.
A good Samaritan met the supposed employee at a seminar, he liked his job and decided to recommend him for a job that would require his presence 3 times a week and a basic salary of N100k.
See their chat below and how arrogance cost him the job.

There was a time I saw a vacant opening in Akwa Ibom and reached out to my FB contacts in Akwa Ibom. Someone referred a lady to me.

I sent her a message and told her there was a vacancy if she was interested. Pay was good and was flexible too. She told me not to send her messages again so that I don't hack her Facebook.

I told her to check my profile as I'm a lawyer and not a rifftaff. Told her the opening was for an international NGO coming to Akwa Ibom and pay was above 200k - pay was actually around 350k). Told her not to bother replying me cos she has missed the opportunity.

That's when she started begging, tell me sad tales of how she and her elder ones needed the job, bla bla. I didn't even answer her.

Lovely thread or topic i should say...

First of all, that guy doesn't sound like someone in need of a job or the job.

Check where he said " if you really want me, you'd wait!"

Please free the guy abeg, some would say it's arrogance but trust me it's a level of freedom only those who sincerely don't give a fvk what you think about them could attain. That's a don abeg!

Liar. How did you get that far without being a man of reason and patience? Perhaps you are the condescending and self important type.

Her reaction and claim about internet scammers were very understandable.

Lack of decorum, ignorance and a useless sense of entitlement has robbed a lot of young people from fantastic opportunities.

You, my friend are calling me a liar, but I'm not perturbed. Cynicism is very typical of those who miss opportunities. Start with cynicism, end with regrets.

I've not gotten anywhere in life, I am a young man interested in helping others just how others have helped me. So, don't say I have gotten far cos I'm just starting.

There is nothing wrong with being skeptical of a mouth watering job presented by some stranger on facebook. If you were in her shoes, wouldn't you be skeptical and be on alert for a possible fraud? If no, then you are an idi0t. You gave up so easily in your story that I suspect you are a shady person who cooked up such story to fool gullible nairalanders. Do you know what it means in this hard time for some stranger to hook you up on facebook and offer you a 200k+ job? undecided

Your story makes no sense. Even when she apologised and gave a very sound and reasonable excuse for her behaviour, why didn't you give her the job knowing fully well her behaviour was understandable? What stopped you from giving her the job? If indeed you like to help people, why didn't you give her the job since you know that she and her elder ones needed it to survive? Oga, you are probably a fraudster.

Beside, how is it a show of pride and arrogance to be skeptical of a sudden offer of a mouth watering job directed to her by some stranger on facebook? How? Either you really want to help her or not. There are three explanations for you absurd story:
1) you are plain silly.
2) you are conceited and comfortable on your high horse, or
3) your story is made up to fool and defraud desperate and gullible nairalanders.

On a close analysis, your are a fraudster.

Hello sir, thanks again for the link that you shared.

I noticed from the site, that they are looking for full time developers while I am still in school and was just looking for a side job.

Secondly, they need an expect in Apiary and swagger I am not proficient in those but can be learnt quickly.

Please sir, do you think I should reply or just stick around looking for side jobs.

//I don't even have a cv.
