Samsung has advised owners of its latest TVs to run regular virus scans.

A video was made on how to run this scan and uploaded on the Samsung Support USA Twitter account.

This video demonstrates quite a couple of remote-control button presses that are

needed to access the sub-menu required to activate the check.

This video suggested that users should carry out the process every few

weeks to detect and detect malicious contents and attacks on this devices .

The suggestion surprised cyber-security specialists, who said the public would

be unlikely to go to the trouble. BBC News asked SamsungĀ 

In response to an interview by BBC news of whether there is/was any specific threat

that prompted the warning, the company noted that the video is being "posted for customers' education".

However, it also deleted the post at about the same time. The 19-second video guide had been watched more than 200,000 times.
