I was experimenting with a Tomatoes specie in Ajah then and it came.

I researched them and found out they are very useful in tomatoes farms as they help eliminate harmful insects on the farm.

The type I saw was a shade of green.

It is one of the most beautiful creature I have ever seen.

It's also very good at hiding.

It is non- poisonous.

It is common around America but I was so surprised to find it in Lagos Nigeria .

Do not be deceived yet. What i see in the picture could be said to be highly venomous snake. The problem is our nigerian expert (vet doctors) are busy investing their talents and skills only on dogs, whereas other animals like venomous snakes whose venom will be useful for anti venom to save of lives, are left to wreck havoc. God forbid.

This is common snake its not a venomous snake, they usually chase lizards and rats around. To confirm if its venomous, after killing it check its set of teeth, if it homodont then its not venomous, but if it has special teeth 2 up and 2 down protruding from the rest of the teeth. Then its venomous snake.

It's not garter snake as it is endemic to North America..rather check the image attached... I think it should be this..and I guess it's kinda poisonous.. you can do further read up online

Apart from the boa constrictor,all other snakes are venomous and from this snake look,its not a boa constrictor,boa are not as long as this

This snake can move very very fast. I have chased one myself and can confirm that.

Brother I understand what u saying totally... Read what I wrote again then u will understand. All snakes got venoms but some venoms are very weak that even bucket of it in your system won't do u any harm.

U see that snake u said got no venoms allow It to bite you and u will notice sweat on you but it ends there to show u the venom isn't active

But what if the sweating is simply related to anxiety. Most snake bite patients are very anxious, they think they will die, so they require a bit of sedation most times.

To answer the question, this sure does look like a Garter snake

All garter snakes are actually venomous.

However, not sufficiently enough to kill a man. But the bit can give you some discomfort.

Secondly, garter snakes are not native to West Africa. It's a surprise that a garter snake can be found in Eti-Osa. It's quite possible it was stowed on a ship from Canada or those areas. The Garter snake is a sub-arctic reptile.

Try not to be insulting on people who don't know. Even you needed some schooling.

They have python in my myms village that it is forbidden to kill it else you will bury it like a human being. When it comes to the house, it doesnt bite, just take a stick carry out to a very far distance and drop the stick with it. If you take the stick back, the snake will find its way back to the house. Hmmm.... The first time i saw a snake was the buah where i was looking for snail, it was like a colourful rope, thank God i didnt pick it. Hmmm
