How old is the child?

The former type of adoption is not straightforward and you will need the parent(s) marriage certificate,death certificate(s), notarized consent letter from the parents next of kin,prefarably sibming bearing same surname and even DNA testing in some cases/embassies.
First step is becoming the childs legal guardian. Pay his/school fees directly to the school(keep all reciepts bearing your name as sender and the childs name as reference) and also sending a token for her/his upkeep monthly. All properly documented.

Where is their father by the way? If he’s alive it’s best you get his consent as they are still minors. You will have to find him first before trying to adopt them. Yes. You will need the father’s consent. It is one of the tragedies that come with having an irresponsible spouse. No matter what, you will need their consent even in life saving issues. You can get a lawyer to first get legal guardianship of the children and then move to adopt them.

The legal guardianship process can be the fastest way to get an irresponsible parent out of the picture without them knowing your full intent. The father will legally relinquish his rights of care of the children to you. If he knows you want to adopt them to carry them abroad, if he’s greedy he will exploit you. My advise, first become their legal guardian. Get a lawyer.
