When Will Nigerians Appreciate Obj? by OBJ3(m): 12:08pm On May 10, 2007
i often wonder when people will begin to understand that we as a nation are making progress. never in history have we had a civilian to civilian transition. we are about to have one. never in history have we had great judicial success as in the run up to the last election. never have we had a senate president (3rd in line to the president) prosecuted, chief police officer prosecuted, corrupt governors pursued all over the world down to UK.

Never have we had it so good in communication, freedom of speech, improved international image. when will people realise how much has been achieved in the last eight years. people like atiku were stopped from being president, for once we have a president elect that everybody believes has no history of corruption, we have technocrats in the presidency, people of integrity everywhere
after all this hullaballoo, OBJ retires to his farm, why can't nigerians be patriotic? why do we expect to be like US in 8 yrs.

people say our democratic institutions are not strong enough but are being influenced by the presidency. what do we want as nigerians? a democratic set up which allows people like dariye to loot and be free, atiku can steal and be president, alams to steal with pride, ibori will loot with heroism etc should never be left untampered with angry nonsense. say what you like, this is nigeria, if the systems dont work, we'll work it out. dont tell me about voters and the right to vote, many voters are ignorant and may vote based on sentiments such as tribe/religion so it is better we have someone who will live above board.

like it or leave it, the last 8 yrs were great for nigeria and we must be proud that we've had a civilian to civilian transition and that we must htank OBJ at least for maintaining democracy. after all if the army overthrew OBJ all those in opposition today will be somewhere else under military rule

nonsense angry angry angry

Please lets seperate the issues here, are u talking about his economics or politics? If it is economic reforms i will score him above 50%,however i will be inclined to question the transparency of NNPC,NPA,NMA and also the privatisation. his reforms reek of corruption. have you wondered why someone who is claiming to fight corruption is refusing to sign the freedom of information Bill?

Politically i score him 0%,he is canterkarous, talks carelessly(ie do or die) unforgiving and selective in his approach to political matters. I can give you a thousand and one examples. he has not behaved like a father at all that is why people keep having a go at him. Someone of that age should be bring him family(Nigeria) together and noot fanning the embers of disunity.

This are reasons why people dont appreciate him. If you have any contrary view bring it on

O-B-J:

Thanks for hitting the nail right on the head. With the exception of the few great Nigerians like your good self, OBJ, Iwu, Adedibu, Ojo Maduekwe, Ahmodu Ali, Alao Akala, Andy Uba and othes, the rest of us Ngierians are all ignorant.

I just want to apologize to you on behalf of all the ignorant Nigerians that we are sorry for wanting to vote based on our judgement of those we think can lead us. Its really unfortunate the pains we must had caused you people and you had to do everything possible to stop our ignorance. For example, the people of Oyo State are so ignorant that they did not know that the duo of Adedibu and Alao Akala are the best thing to have happened to them. The people of Edo state are so ignorant that they dont know that Oshimole is corrupt and must not be allowed to win. Thanks for your machinery, Oshimole is stopped in that do or die style.

We the people of Anambra State are so ignorant that we prefered Ngige to Andy Uba, but we have you people to thank for saving us from our ignorance. Uba was endorsed without any elections. Thanks for your ability to have wisdom such that the PDP won even in places they did not filed candidates.

We erred so much in our ignorance you know. In our ingornace, we thought that elections would be as in going to cue up, have your name verified, get the ballot paper and cast your vote. Thanks for your wisdom, that much ballot papers were left in South Africa and only a few got here. From the few that got here, some you snatched so as to vote on our behalf. Those that reached their destination, go their late that some voted by 7.00pm in semi-darkness. Thanks for your wisdom that the police cooperated and many were forced to vote for your party at gun point.

You are indeed an epitom of wisdom and Nigerians will ever live to remember your greatest effort in enthroning and illegitimate regime full of people of questionable characters. Yaradua is not corrupt, but at least we would had been allowed to vote for him, rather than for you people to practice internal colonialism. Well, that is me speaking ignorantly again.

Once again, I apologize.

@ noblezone
that was an excellent post. i wonder when we will begin to face facts in this country rather than bow to anything our so called leaders shove our way. this is y i keep saying that a re orientation is urgently needed to move this country forward. from OBJ's post it is obvious that we are the architects of our own misfortune.
Re: When Will Nigerians Appreciate Obj? by OBJ3(m): 8:20pm On May 11, 2007
I agree with you angel101, we are the architects of our own misfortune.
noblezone, when you talk of anambra state and edo state and oyo state etc, you should realise that OBJ is more responsible for what happens at the centre and not really at the states. the PDP of those states should take responsibility for their own actions. OBJ will take responsibility for what happens in the centre. and in the centre, nigerians can be happy that they have someone responsible as the next president. you guys should question the local PDP authorities for what happened in the states.

I did well at the centre. . . . . .and that is final angry
history will be my Judge

A lot of nonsense coming from u. OBJ not responsible for the states? who do u think is responsible for Andy getting Anambra, Agagu retaining Ogun despite malpractices. Why did he go to Lagos during the gubernatorial elections after casting his vote if he is not concerned about the states.

In my opinion, he did very well rconomially. Better than other rulers and Nigerians will remember him for that. Cleared our debt, put some strong reforms (hate it or love it, its true) but politically was where you could say he failed.
Re: When Will Nigerians Appreciate Obj? by OBJ3(m): 8:48pm On May 11, 2007
OK, so we agree on 1 point. . . OBJ did well in economics.
thank you. we are making progress. but if and when yar'adua does well politically. .remember that OBJ put him there. in his otta wisdom
nonsense angry
