My Samsung A10 Experience by Cannonleo(m): 7:29am On Jul 10, 2019
This is going to be a short thread , but i want to detail my experience with the A10 over the course of 4days.
I immediately fell in love with the device when i first saw the review on youtube three months ago, for the fact i was stuck with htc devices all my life and never tried another device except itel (twice). I literarily drooled at it but was finacially incapacitated, the downside though was the lack of a fingerprint sensor and the 2gb ram which however have proven me wrong in memory optimization.

My house was swamped recently by rain in my place of service(nysc) and i lost my last htc device to the flood and some other belongings. I had two options, to either get another htc device or go get this phone with my last card.

I decided to get this phone at least for battery sake and most importantly i wanted to change my device line cos i was done with htc totally.

Pros: muti tasking is really sweet on the A10, the split screen mode enables me run my apps simutenously without lag, imagine playing a game and see viewing twitter feeds.
Memory optimization is a bum though,i can open 6 apps simulternously but the one with the highest memory tends to close unless you restart it.
Transition is seemless, and the battery, oh yes the battery hasnt dropped to 30% since i started using it despite being a heavy user and in an area with no power at all.
The tear drop notch complements the look although am still trying to get used to the bulkiness of the device,(always afraid it will fall off my hands)lol due to my familiarity with compact devices.
Sound quality is okay but i would have preferrred they added a dobly atmos equalizer to the speaker rather than headphones and will still find a way to add it though i know it would involve rooting and flashing custom recoveries.
Camera quality is around 82% for me but hey its a budget device.
As for 4g ,my area isnt so good but its still manages to hit max speed though.
The face unlock for me works even though its not the most safest means of security but i can unlock the phone with my face even at night with minimal light sources.

Cons: no fingerprint
Changing the location of most device storage location can force the app to FC, like chrome i changed the location of downloads to my sdcard , downloaded apks coudnt be installed and literarily disapperared.
Am a storage concious person and the inability to move major guzzling apps like facebook, twitter, whatsapp etc to sd card with its dex,lib and cache files entirely (move2sd) was a bust.
This is the first time i would be using a device with zero xda support, no roms,no rooting methods, no custom recovery, no tweaks just basic and trust me am already uncomfortable, it makes me feel like am using an iphone, very restricted.

One or two instances of lag especially when heavily multi tasking and attempting to open apps in device settings, phone be snailling else everything is good dosent happen in any other app.

And lest i forget Game play is suprisingly good especially pubg which is playable in medium graphics with good ffps and very few instances of lag.

Basically thats the summary of my assesment of the samsung A10, its a beautiful device with its beast mode yet to be unlocked. I look forward to rooting on android pie and flashing new roms and recoveries and it has left me broke hah.

If any other user has installed the june 2019 security patch kindly let me know what optimization it adds cos i am wary of downloading updates before you brick a device, (experience)

Thank you

Are you sure you are not over-hyping this mobile, coz I'm thinking of it as an alternative.

This phone's camera is by far mediocre. Tho daylight shots are just ok, The noise in low light shots are way too much not to notice. Screen flash is almost useless. As for the battery, with the help of Greenify, I got 10hrs plus SOT on Glo 3G yesterday without the slightest heating ish. Without greenify, I only get 6hrs plus with a little overheating. And yea, the face unlock on my A10 isn't that fast and finds trouble identifying one's face in low light. My A10's software is upto date

OP abeg how this A10 split screen dey work cos me, I don try all possible means but never figure the split screen out o

lol baba i dont know which A10 you dey use.
I use grennify as well
And i get 13hrs max on mtn 4g with medium usage , gaming heavily however can give me 7hrs ( art of war and pubg) and i havent had a hot device yet maybe cos i am concious of grennifying apps a lot.
The camera isnt 100% but i have taken some night shots and they reflect off well,
Face detection at night isnt perfect but baba am typing this by 7pm dot and just bring it closer to your face with the light it unlocks.

As for split screen, just tap the recent apps button, tap on the icon of any of the apps in the recent apps drawer, you will see split screen, it will prompt you to launch the second app

i used the cracked one i downloaded from onhax.com page, google greenify cracked onhax then you can get it as it dosent contain ads.
To use grennify on , install the app
Set it up, if your phone is rooted(best method for it to work)
Select it else if your phone is unrooted just like mine set the unrooted method.

Click on the + icon new apps to be grennified, as well as set up notifications for grennifying apps, etc etc

Also create a hibernation icon, helps with hibernating already selected apps , infact check the settings you will understand more

Grennify works best in xposed + root mode thats when its true power is unleashed.

And it does its job well, save battery and space

U mean u got 13 hours of total usage or 13 hours SOT. The person u quoted said he got 7 hours SOT which is good enough for this phone.

yep example yesterday was saturday
I had a full 100% charge of last night,
Went out of thr house by 7-8am cos of boredom 4g on and bluetooth on playing the gift album
At exacly 12:24 i checked i had around 74% battery for 5 hrs usuage , bluetooth off, i was off and on heavy usuage but with data on till 7.20pm (remembered time cos i went out to charge my pc as i stay in an area with no power) i had an unbelievable 42% left, even i was shocked my self.

If my calculation serves me right thats 10hrs SOT, cos in between the last 5hrs ,i had hours of long usuage and short usuage than the initial 5hr where i was 100% active

So if i decided to use up the 42% , i roughly have the 12hrs estimate.

Modified its actually 12hrs but its debatable cos of the last 7 hrs of on and off usuage

U are just guessing. U can get the actual screen on time from settings under battery just like the image below. Now my own is not valid because I have charged the phone in between as shown from the graph. But the second image was my SOT a few weeks ago.

your analysis is different from SOT

When playing music via Bluetooth
Your phone is partially in sleep mode which saves battery

SOT counts as the time the screen was on and performing task
