Satan called a worldwide convention of demons.

In his opening address he said,

"We can't keep Christians from going to church."

"We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth."

"We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their saviour."

"Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken."

"So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ, "

"This is what I want you to do," said the devil:

'Distract them from gaining hold of their Saviour and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!'

"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.

"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.

"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow."

"Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles."

"Keep them from spending time with their children."

"As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"

"Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice."

"Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive."

To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly."

"This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ."

"Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers."

"Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day."

"Invade their driving moments with billboards."

"Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogues, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes, "

"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives. "

"Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night."

"Give them headaches too! "

"If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere."

"That will fragment their families quickly!"

"Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the
real meaning of Christmas."

"Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and
power over sin and death."

"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive."

"Have them return from their recreation exhausted."

"Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation.

Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead."

"Keep them busy, busy, busy!"

"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences."

"Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek
power from Jesus."

"Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause."

"It will work!"

"It will work!"

It was quite a plan!

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there.

Having little time for their God or their families.

Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.

I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?

It will be a good idea to post only as the Spirit of God leads us making sure we pray that His Word will fall upon good fertile grounds. It is not everyone that asks questions that really wants to do the will of God when their questions get answered, they actually have their minds made up and do not want to be confused with the facts, so we have to learn not to cast our pearls before swines and to be wise as serpents but harmless as doves.

These are two of the "I will's" of Satan--or Lucifer--as he aspired to usurp the throne of God as ruler of the universe (see Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:11-17). Lucifer, of course, is not the Creator, for he was "created," (Ezekiel 28:15) himself. It would seem therefore that for him to rationalize his ambition to be like the most High, he must somehow persuade himself that he is like the most High--that is, that God is a created being like himself, and thus can be defeated. He only had God's word that he had been created by Him, and he evidently chose not to believe what God said (just as do multitudes of men and women today).

He, like they, chose rather to believe that the eternal cosmos had somehow created them all by its own powers. The great cosmos (call it Mother Nature, perhaps) has "created," spirit beings, as well as men and women, and all the worlds inhabited by them. In this scenario, the true Creator God is viewed as only one of many. Therefore He is vulnerable to defeat--or so Satan evidently believes.

Thus Lucifer became the first evolutionist, and this great lie by which he deceived himself became the basis of his later deception of Eve and then of the founders of all the varied pantheistic religions of the world, as well as modern evolutionism and "New Age" philosophies. Nevertheless, God is still on His throne, and "the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings" (Revelation 17:14). HMM

We can enjoy life more abundantly when we maintain a close relationship with Jesus. But if we are apart from Him, we become vulnerable to the thief, who would seek to steal, kill, and destroy.

You are certainly right in that satan's aim is to divert this topic as you can see him use one of his oldest schemes as the accuser of the brethren to attack my person. It is also true that the Bible says ''answer not a fool according to his folly,lest you be like him'' but it also says that we should answer a fool according to his folly lest he become wise in his own eyes, may the Lord give us the grace to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves as our Lord admonished.

Nevertheless, all things works together for believer's good and I believe that God's will and purpose will be fulfilled in these latter days in our lives as He will make us more than conquerors through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Very nice and enlightening thread. Unfortunately, the devil has been very sucessful with his schemes. We, as believers, need to spend more time with our Lord.

You are right, they even have their own "holy book" called Origin of Species written by this same Darwin of a guy and this is the book that satan uses as an alternative of the Bible. These evolutionists believe their holy book gives explanation for the origin and development of life on earth without the need of any God or supernatural agent.

The real battle is between the authority of the Word of God and the faulty assumption of men; humanism and Christianity, guess who is winning the battle?  Your guess is as good as mine.

OP was an interesting read. We see all these diversions all around us, and unfortunately they do work with many of us. We've just got to keep holding on to our Father in heaven so that the 'seed of God' that was implanted in our hearts keeps yielding fruit. The main goal of these diversions is to kill that seed so that it does not bear fruit.

Let 'Christmas' be cancelled in the name of 'political correctness'; It doesn't matter as long as we celebrate Christ everyday of our lives. Let 'Easter' focus on chocolate, bunnies and eggs; doesn't matter as long as we thank God everyday for the work of salvation wrought for us.

We need to keep the WORD OF GOD ALIVE in OUR HEARTS and in OUR LIVES so we can fulfill his purpose for our lives and not let it be choked by 'thorns' of worldy cares. Man ought not to live FOR BREAD (sustenance, pleasures) alone but FOR GOD'S GLORY!

Charles Darwin has not only given the 'atheists' a religion to practise he has also succeeded in confusing a lot of fine Christians who have now abandoned their faith for fables.
