Unexplanable Experience While Travelling From Sokoto To Aba by daddymummy(m): 10:30am On Jul 20, 2019
Days ago,i embarked on a journey from Sokoto to Aba in Abia state.

I followed FG Onyenwe luxurious bus.

The bus departed by about 2 pm as is usually the case

We drove through Gusau(Zamfara), Funtua(Katsina), Zaria(Kaduna)

Niger , Lokoja(Kogi)

By this time (ie when we were in kogi), it was already 12 midnight.

All through the journey,Ibo music was being played which made the journey enjoyable.

By the time we reached kogi, every one was fast asleep.

I was also asleep when suddenly i woke up by about 12:30 am.

Suddenly, the driver switched off the music and as i looked out the window,i saw people(witches) standing all in the thick forest between 2 local governments areas in kogi.

I saw them in the bright moonlight

I call them witches because they stood inside the forest in the deep of the night

and it seemed as if the driver knew the spot very well that was why he switched off the music.

But come to think of it,what will people be doing in a thick forest on a highway far from town at midnight,if they are not witches?.

At Aba, i asked the driver and he said for me to forget about it.

He refused to tell me what he know about it.

Please has anybody had such experience before while on transit from one state to another?

It is possible sha.Our people use to say that a traveler has seen a lame sheep.
There is nothing a traveler might not see.

In fact,as he switched off the music that was being sung in the bus,he seemed to have also reduced the volume of the engine so much so that the bus drove almost without sound.

It was not until he had driven for about 20 minutes that he switched on the music and the sound of the engine.

Like you said, i experienced a proverbial lame sheep that night.

That road is dangerous, years back i was part of a QRG unit detailed there. Many times i got the feeling many people where with us but couldnt see them especially during the wee hours.

We will scan the area and still find nothing but feel people presence. It was still on that road i witnessed some 'small' accidents claim many lives.

One should avoid travelling by roads if they can in Nigeria and if its totally unavoidable it should be done only in the day time and in a bulletproof car. Imagine if God forbid the engine of the car shut off where the op was grin

The bus drivers cook themselves properly. The ones that go on night trips.

It takes a heart of steel to ply Nigerian roads every night and some of them do it for years.

A lot happens when one travels.

There was a day i travelled from kano to aba.

The driver followed new road:kano, kaduna, niger, kogi, benue, onitsha, delta, imo, aba in abia.

Somewhere in delta state,a bag of beans fell from the bus on a highway.

Immediately, the driver stopped the bus and asked the conductor to go and bring the bag

But the bag was not found. It seemed to have just vanished

The highway was very far from town and was bounded only by thick forest. No one lived anywhere closeby.

So no one could have taken the bag.

In fact, the way the bag fell from the luxurious bus boot was astonishing since it was well packaged with other bags.

If sb believes that it was taken by a human being; was the human being just waiting on the lonely highway expecting sth to fall from a bus?

The whole thing was a mystery
