Good morning Nigerians and welcome to what I call 'Brief moment of reality with MANTISSA'.

Let's take some minutes and forget about arguing on Facebook and Twitter, let's face facts.

I know your monthly salary is determined by how much you refuse to understand what I am about to say, but let's assume you have a free ten minutes to understand.

You love Buhari because he is allegedly fighting corruption, fine, but let's take few minutes and see the economic impact of his corruption fight.

The first bill here is our N5 note. As at today, that note standing alone cannot buy anything in the Nigerian market. When I say anything, I mean absolutely nothing. It can't buy hot sachet water, it can't buy a pack of match box, it can't buy ordinary TomTom, nothing. So if you have it just one, it is a very useless artifact to you. To spend it, you must embark on a mission of unlikely fruition to find another of it so you could buy at least a sachet of pure water or any other meaningless thing thr seller agrees to get rid of.

And your president just won another term.

The second bill is the $5 (5 US dollar note), which is equivalent to N1802. That note standing alone can buy you a moderate lunch at work for 5 working days (assuming the moderate lunch is sold at N300 per lunch). It won't stop there, it will also ensure you have every of your lunch with a cold bottle water of N50 for each of those working days.

And your president has integrity.

The third image is the 5 euro note, worth N2008. With that, you can decided to take a friend out for lunch for 5 working days, you may only need to bring down your budget to N250 per lunch so you can fully accommodate your friend, and maybe once or twice use sachet water instead of bottled water. But you and your friend will eat to your satisfaction per lunch day.

And your president is tall and has gap teeth.

Finally, the last but not the least image there is the 5 British pounds note, equivalent to N2242. That bill can see that you and your friend have your full lunch everyday without compromising your choice of bottle water for 5 working days. By this I mean, you can always have your N250 lunch and still choose (not forced now) whether to drink sachet or bottled water.

And your president was able to get your votes simply because he drank sachet milo during campaigns.

Ps: Exchange rates as used in this post are from today's live rates at the forex market.

It is not everyday you wake up to start bashing the president and his clueless policies. Some days, we just have to take a practical assessment of the economy as it is today. President Buhari is not doing enough to reposition Nigeria economically on a favorable and viable position.

Those who championed the cause for his second term did that solely and clearly for their own selfish interests and never in the interest of the Nigerians.

Dear Buhari defender, I urge you to go through this post critically, without some biased or prejudiced sentiments. You will definitely see why I say that Buhari will leave Nigeria worse than he met it.

After 2023, may Buhari or something similar to him never happen to us again.

Thank you for coming to my moments with MANTISSA. Nigeria is ours to love, to serve and to defend.

Ka e mesịa!
