Enslaving workers is synonymous to some private firms . The building construction company i worked with as a logistics officer after my youth service in 2016 could pass for Baboon dey work, monkey dey chop. Before i quit in January, i was earning #50k which doesn't come regularly

Funniest part is ecobank is still busy recruiting after they sacked 900 staffs. Bank job is a joke. Any banker should have an exit plan.

They recruit regularly because they sack regularly. Useless unsecure job.

The question asked is a relevant question, in fact it's a very good observation. Getting a solution to that question gives you the insight of what you are going to face if you are fortunate to work in a bank, and strategize on leaving them before they drop you. No one is saying the recruitment is not good, the question is what is happening to those people they employed a year before the recruitment, are they short of staff, does the job have security. A good example is those who were sacked in Ecobank and later paidoff with a token of 120k after working for 10years. If these occur regularly, then you bring up a choice of planning to work for them for a short or long period or you don't want to work in the industry at all.

Because they sack regularly, if you don’t meet your target for confirmation, you’ll be asked to resign and go try somewhere else.

people move bro. they either get tired, get a better offer or get sacked after a while and leave. it applies to most companies. some do in-sourcing, so you might not see their advert. A friend just left Firstbank that i have been rooting for, management position o, to Canada
How many years did he work there? Also is he working as a banker in Canada?
Re: Why Do Banks Recruit Regularly? by Sheymanx: 12:07am On Jul 27, 2019
High staff turnover rate.
This is caused by several factors though, someof which could be dissatisfaction from job, sack/retrenchment, Staff crossing over to other Coys/Industry.

This always happen on a regular basis howbeit frequent recruitment activity.

they mostly under pay their new recruits. imagine uba paying a customer care agent that goes to work Monday to Sunday just #80,000 translating to barely #250 per hour is that not madness, they recruit 100 and in 6months about 70 will voluntarily resign due to under-employment.
If a bank is paying u 80k u are a big boy, some are earning 30k.

What about the graduate entry recruits? Someone i know passed through their training school last year and after meeting the 3M target, she was placed in operation department as a supervisor. So i don't understand how a supervisor would have a supervisor.
yes oh, she must still be answering to someone, and must be evaluated, whichever way they do it, she must still be checked if she's not doing well at the, she might be asked to leave.

That's called upgrading my friend. I too would prefer Canada to even a managerial position in the bank. as far as naija is concerned, nothing is guaranteed. you friend isn't stupid, he probably have weighed both options and find out leaving for Canada is a better option while there are some who envy his former job... hmmm funny world sha, " Some have, they don't don't want, others want they don't have "
