Depends. Travelling from America can be dangerous - it’s a wide ocean to swim. Travelling from Dubai can be dangerous too - it’s a hot desert to walk. Happily, when you arrive in Africa, you are safe again smiley

If you mean, of course, is it safe to travel in Africa, it depends. Travelling is never risk-free. As a tourist, you might be targeted by con-artists who bait you with exchange rates and switch your money for newspaper. As an investor, you might find a politican expecting shares. As a driver, you might come across road blocks that shake you down. The upside is taking these stories home and dining out on them forever. On the other hand, you can find your thrills: the world’s highest bungee jump and the world’s deepest mines (South Africa), the biggest number of animals that can eat and squash you (Kenya), warm-hearted people who welcome you and feed you hot spicy soup and river fish (Nigeria). It’s a huge continent with many countries and diverse people and the nature of travel is to compress life’s normal highs and lows into a short time span.

In general, Africa is exciting; it’s nature is exotic and its topography appeals to the adventurous who are bored by nanny-states and domestic monotony. Travelling to Africa is not safe at all: there is every chance you will lose your heart and want to come back.
