Admin Please put this in front page.

a friend of mine who graduated january 2018, he called and said he wanted to serve in lagos state, he is so passionate about lecturing, he wanted to come to lagos state with the hope that he will be posted to UNILAG, LASU or any of the higher institutions in lagos or better still get a good company where he can develop his professional and cooperate life.

He is a graduate of industrial chemistry from ATBU (federal university of technology bauchi), the guy is just so brilliant and learns very fast. After spending good five years he finally earned a BTech. Industrial Chemistry with first class honours. his family members have placed high hopes on him, after giving their all to see him through school. he didn't fail them, he gave his all in school just so he will achieve the best result possible and with Gods help he did (first class).

AFTER graduation, he was eventually posted to lagos but unfortunately not to a higher institution as is required for a first class graduate or a good company which was his second choice but to primary school(nawa for NAIJA SHA). He eventually worked his way and ended up serving in a facility mgt company. he has since completed his service and is still searching for a job.

please kindly help him in any way possible if you have any job. He is currently staying with me in lagos and has virtually visited all the nukes and cranny of lagos state in search of a job spending all his NYSC SAVING ON TRANSPORTATION. i have been helping out in my own little way, he is very frustrated and depressed.

I JUST THOUGHT I COULD HELP HIM LOCATE A HELPER HERE ON NAIRALAND HENCE, THIS BRIEF WRITE UP. you can call OR SMS him on this number 09099150094. JUST A JOB OR A CONTACT TO ANY JOB OPENING WILL BE PERFECT. ABEG NO MENTION MY NAME IF YOU WANT HELP AM OOOOOO. Are you joking my guy? First class, no job?

He had first class, he would have been posted to the best PPA in other states but not Lagos. Lagos is the LA d of network and connections.

He should apply to colleges and polytechnic.

The dude you're talking about finished service either in March or June this year. Was he expecting a sudden miracle?

There are numerous first class graduates looking for an opportunity.

Did I hear you say depressed? Hello?

The mentality is the issue. He should keep applying, believing and praying.

About his service year, Lagos doesn't post graduates to tertiary institutions unlike other states of the federation.
He should calm down and keep trying.

Good result doesn't guaranty job even in Europe. You still have to convince the employers you can bring something to the table.

The topic reads "Help!!! I Am A First Class Graduate And Needs A Job".

Which school did we graduate from self and what did we study? Which certification or what experience do we have?

Nothing ooo, na just to read book and pass exams, finish.

Many first class graduates are not smart, but brilliant. Them dey do like fish , no street in them.

I am not against lacking 'street-ness'.
Even the bookworm type are crucial for some roles that require hardworking hands.

My issues with OP.
- The English he used in that Heading.
- He didn't state his area of specialization and
- Didn't sound like one even trying to improve by going for certifications or trainings.

My best advice for your friend is to try his best to raise some cash and sit for GRE test. With that, he stands a very good chance to secure a full MSc. scholarship in Canada or USA.

Instead of complaining he should go and learn a skill. I will recommend programming. He will get a job in no time.

Tell your friend to go back to his school or any university within his region and pick up MSc form. While doing MSc he should try and build a good rapport with his lecturers. They'll fix him up after MSc so he can start up as an assistant lecturer and then proceed to PhD.

People should try to understand the courses they are selecting in JAMB and the purposes such courses are designed to serve before choosing it.
