Presidency Plots Fresh Attack On Atiku - He may be arrested and arraigned in court after May 29

Following the verdict of guilty the Senate passed on Vice President Atiku Abubakar over the role he played in the disbursement of the PTDF sources say the verdict would be gazetted promptly by the Federal Governmentin preparation of using it to prosecute him at the appropriate time

It was learnt that the presidency’s plan to ensure that the senators’ decision was gazetted, was to stop the vice president from participarting in any future election in the country.

A source said “Abubakar will be arrested and arraigned in court immediately after May 29, when he will no longer be under any immunity.”

But the Vice President, through his campaign office said that there was no basis for any criminal prosecution against him. “Firstly, the vice president, like other citizens of Nigeria has a right to a good name and integrity and he is at liberty to defend his name when there are obvious attempts to destroy that name”

“Again, if you had carefully studied the Senate decision yesterday, you will see that what the Senate said was illegal was the action of the VP to authorise the placement of the PTDF money; not that he personally benefitted in any pecuniary manner from the PTDF money. So, what should be the basis of his prosecution?

“On the other hand, one of the senators said yesterday that the controversial $20million has been traced to a PDP account. So, who are the managers of the PDP and shouldn’t they be the target of any further criminal investigation and prosecution?

No money from the PTDF was traced to the personal account of the vice-president. His only offence is that he authorised the placement of the PTDF money into accredited banks.”

The Action Congress said the indictment of Atiku by the Senate did not come as a surprise, saying the lawmakers were “arm-twisted” by outgoing President Olusegun Obasanjo “in one last desperate act of vendetta.”

Can someone send or deliver a message to Mr. President?

Message: ENOUGH is ENOUGH, Nigerians are no longer interested in allegation against Atiku. We are sick and tired of this craziness.

I have nothing against whatever actions are taken against the Vice President, provided they are just and legal.

wether he benefited financially, or he abused his office by influencing how and where the money was placed, it is a crime and he should be punished just like OBJ should be punished for his crimes and attrocities as well.

Atiku has been taken to court more than 10 times without anything tangible to hold on to, zero outcome; I feel that this administration continues to waste our money and valuable time, that could be used constructive on other sensible project.
It's time to move on and allow the new administration to probe every single corrupt leader after May29.

We've had enough of this craziness I'm sick of it, it doesn't make any sense anymore; infact, in my eyes, there is nothing Atiku has done that OBJ, himself hasn't done twice.

Enough of the craziness; let's focus on issues that are more important to ordinary Nigerians.

you guys that are saying we should leave ATIKU alone are making me sick including you BIGB1. A thief is a thief regardless of how he stole the money, ATIKU, IBb and all this cowards that are hidding under immunity should be properly investigated and jail if found guilty. you can't bring an elephant down with one rope. people Like ATIKU are the reason why we are so backwards and to listen to my fellow Nigerian calling for a truce is unimaginable.

Who is the presidency? Is the VP not among the presidency?

@ topic

We know Atiku is corrupt likewise others who paralate themselves in Aso Rock.  The F.G or Presidency as it often called are trying to cripple Atiku politically. following past record is Atiku more corrupt than others or is he going to be use as sample?

You and I knew that if the Presidency are fighting the right course this Atiku this and Atiku that would have come along time ago. I'M NOT IN SUPPORT OF ANY CORRUPT MAN.

As long as I live this battle is between OBJ and ATIKU and it should be leave for the law court to judge over it.

Boy if you only know what is going on in ASO ROCK.  I'm not from OGUN state, and IF you have any IQ you know in Nigeria our BIG people will go to their grave screaming they are innocent rather than to beg for forgiveness.

ATIKU is in Charge of the FUNDS that was mis managed not OBJ its as simple as ABC and he alone should be responsible for the consequences.

Even if OBJ is as guilty of all the allegations against him, he has not been indicted by any panel so I hold my peace.

Atiku on the other hand exposed himself by been defiant and trying to occupied the highest post in the country after all his atrocities.

Let the rule of law prevail.

The senate says Atiku is guilty today, But we should start asking them what happened to Senate report on NNPC, missing fund in the federation account, $20million PTDF money traced  to PDP account and Mantu housing Issue, probe into the political mayhem in Anambra, the EFCC report on NPA e.t.c

I am sure the chicken (OBJ and  his collaborators) will sure come home to roost someday.

Then I hope there will not be another excuse of PDP Family affair then.

Which rule of law? was ATIKU thoughtful of all the poor people in Nigerian when he start his magomago with the USA senator?
Re: Presidency Plots Fresh Attack On Atiku by closetpervert(m): 10:33pm On May 15, 2007
two reports from the Senate found him guilty, EFCC found him guilty, the Panel found him gulity, can all these four trials be wrong? Can they all be bought and can they all be arm twisted? Shame on people who keep saying the government is fighting him. When he wins court cases, people shout, but when he gets indicted people say no - he must be a saint then.
